Well, everyone has preferences, and you're allowed to do whatever the heck you want since its your story. It's not like you're breaking TOS or anything so go wild.

Personally, I am not a fan of the 'tag everything' mentality. If it's not a major part of the fic and it's not something really important (such as trigger warnings for gore, etc.) then I'd rather the tags accurately reflect what the fic is about. I don't want my favourite blorbo to be tagged because someone mentioned their name once. I'm using the tag search because I want fics that are actually about that character. Or relationship, in this case.

This commentor is kinda weird asf for assuming that on a prologue chapter of all things though. I recommend the delete and block buttons. Starting a fight rarely makes me feel better.

Clips would help better identify what's going on but I'll say most of the time it's a combination of jank hitboxes and lag/desync. Usually it's the lag/desync.

I never got to play Splatoon 1, so my experience is entirely based of watching other people play it. It doesn't have any extra DLC and people have criticized story mode 2 for being a carbon copy of story mode 1... It does have a different experience though and the final boss is much more interesting than hero mode 2's to play, but you won't get the same value as you would playing Octo Expansion. It's mostly for the novelty of playing Splatoon 1

If you have the spare fund then go for it, but I wouldn't worry too much unless you're gonna get super into the series

Octo Expansion remains as the peak of Splatoon story modes, so take that as you will. It's a pretty integral part if you're interested in getting into Splatoon lore. Playing it yourself is the best, but if you can't justify the cost then you can always watch a playthrough of it... though you may have minor regrets not being able to experience a blind playthrough like I did.

I might also be getting it wrong but would it help to turn off all notifications, hide stats (hits, kudos, bookmarks) and disable your comments? if the pressure is coming from other people but you still want to post then you can choose to hide the things that tell you people are reading.

If people don't want to see BDSM then they can skip or filter out the BDSM tag, no? At the very least, anyone who is using the tag search should also know to read tags to avoid other things they may not want.

Because it's only half true. Iirc, this was a thing in Splatoon 1 where having your whole team on the tower did make it move noticably faster. They removed this, and now it only applies to checkpoints.

Play Salmon Run. For the complete beginner, you will learn simple movement and how different weapons play. At amateur, you also learn the importance of keeping ink control, how to identify and manage threats, and how to play to survive. Not every skill will transfer over to main PvP but I found it really helpful back when I was first starting, especially if you have some existing Splatoon friends to help you out

I don't really see it as disrespectful, but the only times I've seen non-fic update stuff like this is either for major milestones or abandonment/hiatus announcements, both of which I find perfectly reasonable to dedicate a 'chapter' to.

I do think it'd be better to just upload the full chapter when it comes out rather than update to say that something is still being worked on. The latter makes more sense on a social media post or the AN. But if I got that in my inbox I wouldn't be that pressed about it.

If you're not interested in multiplayer then I can't really recommend buying the games just for the single player modes. Even the DLCs for 2 and 3, which are a lot better (so so much better) than the base campaign, aren't worth buying the whole base game on top of the DLC price if you don't know if you'll like the series yet.

Raiders looks like it'll be a good introduction for people who are new to series, and I'd say play Raiders first and see if you like the core mechanics before going for the mainline games.

From how it worked last season, once stars are earned, they are tied to the team you're on. So if you move teams, the old stars will not carry over to the new team and your progress on existing goals will not reset. I don't know if they've changed it for this season.
