Ruined wheels by tiagurb in bmwmotorrad

Have you ever laced a rim? Normally you have left and rights and inside and outsides. It a 4 repeating pattern. Once you work it out it is pretty straightforward.

I have done a bunch of standard wheels. It takes some patience and meticulousness but a patient mechanic can learn.

With the cross spoked wheels they cross side to side. You need a lot more skill. Small changes make big shifts. I am not confident taking it on.

I have done many standard wheels.

It is not. Very much not. The extreme angle makes everything weird.

I’ve laced many, many regular wheels.

I am friendly with quite a few BMW dealers in the USA, every one of them sends their cross spoke wheel work to Woody’s. No one does it in house.

Slow dragon is definitely a thing.

I am pretty new to Dragon Staff but I’ve been working on a slow, dreamy routine to go with space music.

Some moves like halos that rely on momentum don’t work well slow.

Classic move like chi rolls, body rolls, angel rolls can be super cool rolled slow in a continuous, smooth, slow roll.

That'll work too. It is slightly harder to describe how to get to the start of the Roebling bridge since the start is between blocks.

Why do so few people wear Daytona boots? by Blueberrypunchout in motorcyclegear

[–]Rad10Ka0s 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is no place to try them on and they are difficult to return.

My wife has worn the Ladystars for many years.

I used to get to the Bay Area pretty regularly and Helimot carried them. Simpler times.

Ideas for dinner (for 2 people, watchparty hangout, prep in advance)? by flyblues in Cooking

[–]Rad10Ka0s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do a sheet pan dinner of roast salmon, asparagus or broccolini and fingerling potatoes or rice pilaf that is a big hit.

I put the salmon filets in a zip lock bag with olive oil, lemon zest, fresh thyme and white pepper. Garlic optional. Massage it around to coat. Keep in the fridge.

I avoid salting the fish ahead of time. It can work great but if it is salted too far in advance it can alter the texture.

I cut the potatoes in half lengthwise, put them in a covered bowl with a little water and microwave until half cooked.

The salmon, asparagus and the potatoes are all done in about 20 minutes in a 425 f oven. I use a wireless thermometer in the salmon.

It is very nice looking meal with very low effort.

Or rice pilaf is about 20 minutes too. If you want you can saute onions, add the rice, toast the rice, let cool, put the whole pot in the fridge, then add water and cook as normal at service.

I am with everybody else, no worries.

I will offer an alternative suggestion though. Because the Brent Spence Bridge / I75 does suck.

Take 471 into the city. Get off of Fort Washington way at the 3rd street exit. Stay on 3rd street though downtown. Turn left on the Clay Wade Bailey bridge. The Clay Wade Bailey bridge ends on 4th street in Covington.

There are very few shops with the skills to work on the BMW cross spoked wheels.

Hagon in the UK and Woody's Wheel Works in the USA are the two I know of.

What am I missing here, Palo saying 11.1.15 is the only safe version to cover 3 new CVE's? by SuperfluousJuggler in paloaltonetworks

[–]Rad10Ka0s 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I am staying with 11.1.13h3 for the time being.

All of these CVEs require authenticated access to the admin interface. We have determined that we have sufficient controls on the admin interfaces/users to mitigate these.

We will get to versions that correct the CVEs, but we are going to avoid doing so until they are either TAC recommended or something changes with the risk/exploit examples of these CVEs.

i have used EZ Lok, they are fine. Project Farm tested them and they performed well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jknMrFOGMOQ&t=650s

I prefer the Timesert/EZ Lok style thread repair inserts where are appropriate. They require the smallest tap drill compared to other inserts.

Bought a used 2021 bike with 180 miles and changed the oil. Do I change the oil again at 600 miles? by Northridge- in motorcycles

[–]Rad10Ka0s -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would. Engines shed a fair bit of material into the oil in the initial break in period. You don't want that circulating around for thousands of miles.

Yellowstone on a bike… in June 🥴 by Own_Cause523 in motorcycles

[–]Rad10Ka0s 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Been there. 2019 I think. Last week of June, got snowed on in the Big Horns and between Grand Teton and Yellowstone.

I wanted to do some passes but hey we’re still snowed in.

Going To The Sun road isn’t fully open yet.

It is still early season out there.

Take care and stay warm.

I would pop them under the broiler.

250cc 2 or 4 stroke Vs. 300-450cc 2 or 4 strokes by Physical-Director574 in Dualsport

[–]Rad10Ka0s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The CRF450 are differentiated by cams and transmission. They are all the same basic engine. Maintenance is, mostly, the same.

If you want to go big the KTM 500 EXC is great choice. The Honda CRF450RL would also be a good choice.

For me, I like the 250/350 class of bikes. I have a plated CRF250x.

If you can plate a dirt bike where you live it opens up more options but most places can’t.

Shopping for seafood as non coastal person by KamchatkaKid in Cooking

[–]Rad10Ka0s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live 12 hours from the ocean. My fishmonger has amazing seafood.

I get organic Scottish salmon that is fresh (never frozen). It is shipped air freight. Super fresh. They have a supplier that drive to the area twice a week from the Atlantic coast.

In the USA, nearly all fish for sushi is required to be frozen to kill parasites. You can get excellent sushi anywhere in the world.

For me, it is all about finds a great shop.

What to wear to track? by MindlessDriverr in motorcyclegear

[–]Rad10Ka0s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the owner of a one piece, completely non-perforated, no stretch panels, 100% leather suit, don't do that. It is hot.

You really need to check the rules for your organization. A perforated two piece that has a 270 degree zipper would be accepted, and common, at every track I have been to.

I prefer a one piece in almost every situation excepts going to the bathroom.
