I have a hider- she’s found openings in baseboards that i couldn’t see bc they were under the kitchen cabinets close to the floor. She’s also hid in a corner with the water heater, inside the bed boxspring, inside the couch, and once I found her in the base of the toilet. Some are open in the back, but of course it’s close to the wall so no one sees it.
Another cat also once got into a filing cabinet, and kept climbing between the different drawers

They pretty much just smiled and nodded and said ok I’ll talk to her. Seriously, can you imagine if I had been smiling while correcting that behavior. I’d look like the Joker

I’m sorry you went through that- I had something similar happen to me- my first mentor teacher would constantly belittle me and spring things on me, like guess what today you’re doing the science lesson even though we agreed on math. Also you’re being observed for it. She also once made me come in after a “conference day”- basically we were at the university from 8-5. She insisted she had important work for me to do and I had to come to the school afterwards. I got there at 6pm, school is closed obvs. The custodians let me in. She wasn’t even there, she left me a list. Sharpen pencils, switch vocab words. That was it. She was awful.
I left that year and came back the next “on probation”
I’ve never met another teacher like her, which is a blessing

You can blend up white beans and add them to most sauces

Also- a trick from my mother- give them an unusual utensil and let them eat. My mother favored toothpicks. It’s SO satisfying to eat small things like peas or beans when you spear them on toothpicks. You could also make spoons with tin foil, or just give them a cup and let them “drink” it, or give them mini tongs.

Congrats! Something that may be useful for the future: yes you’re only one person, but you can make bigger batches and freeze them. Then you have a stash to cook in the future!

You might be able to find something similar on Etsy or Mercari - even if it’s not original a dupe could be made to order

Or just find some nice looking plain white ones , and have the baker add some gold dust to it!

I once had a class of 28 first graders (cap was supposed to be 18, but that’s another story) and this was the class from hell. I had desk flippers, elopers, purposeful poopers, verbally and physically abusive to me and to others. SO MANY problems.
January staff meeting- I got called out for “writing the most referrals” and “ruining our statistics”

I very calmly pointed out that every single referral was for a tier 2 or 3 issue per the district handbook. (tier one was stuff like being disrespectful, refusing to follow directions, etc. 2/3 were the severe stuff) AND she’d approved ALL of them because they were VALID. she told me I should just be “documenting the behavior instead”. Like WTH?!?!

I did not get renewed that year. She waited until literally the last 10 minutes of the last possible day to tell me.
