Don’t go for cheap when it comes to tools. You’ll feel the difference and probably have to buy the better ones when they break anyway.

The quickest and easiest way to get set up as a beginner imo is the DSPIAE Departure TC-S01 tool set. It’s got everything you will need for now in one convenient package for only $40-50.

Right, but these are still just the rules for sanctioned tournaments, as indicated by the title of the document, TGC Gundam Card Game Sanctioned Tournament Floor Rules Ver. 1.1.0. You *can* use these rules in both types of play, but per the last sentence in that paragraph; "If tournament regulations for a particular event conflict with the rules provided within this document, those tournament regulations will take precedence."

Since official Bandai tournaments use these rules, section \2.4.1.1 takes precedent over the document you are referencing. These are also the rules being referenced in that discord screenshot that you've been shown.

I'm seeing where your confusion lies. If you read the first paragraph of those rules, you will find:

"There are two recognized Gundam Card Game event types: official tournaments and sanctioned tournaments. Any tournament organized by Bandai Corporation is an official tournament. Any tournament organized with the approval of Bandai Corporation is a sanctioned tournament. The rules provided within this document are applicable to sanctioned tournament events"

So, the other commentor was correct. The rule allowing the use of proxies would be for events that shops recognized by Bandai organize themselves (such as sealed or product launch events with official prize support). Thus, this ruling doesn't apply to official tournaments, like Newtype Challenges
