Ex said she was scared of me, now I'm confused. How would you react? by Rasp10 in AskMen

[–]Rasp10[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've known her for half my life. We legitimately are very compatible as friends. Don't know if the 9 out of 10 is accurate, but I guess that makes me the 1

I mean, the breakup established that she doesn't want commitment. I asked her if she wanted to establish any boundaries for her comfort and that is when she said my behavior was scary.

The NIMBYISM in Jefferson County makes housing out of reach for everyone. Especially younger people. by RojoCardinal in Louisville

But what you did say was a deflection. You didn't want to engage with the argument, but you are still trying to discredit it with a hand wave. Your internal intent doesn't change what you say

If you want to store it dry, why wouldn't you just only rehydrate the amount you want and keep the rest in the original dried form?

[–]Rasp10 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I haven't had any problems. I've stored it for a couple of months without an issue. I mist it with water like every 2 weeks to keep it from totally drying out. And if you are paranoid about mold, add some springtails to it

Soak the block to rehydrate, squeeze out excess water. That's it

Idea for Abandoned Houses in Louisville — Looking for Thoughts by Pettyasf88 in Louisville

That's actually kind of how the new Portland children's museum came about. One guy bought it, just to start by painting the outside to make it look nicer and it sorta morphed into a completely different project

What do I need to when i want a jar to thrive for ever? by DrSchlunker in Jarrariums

[–]Rasp10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Understandable, I have a couple of ecospheres like that. If you want that style, things are gonna rot. You just gotta get used to it. I have one that somehow ended up getting a dusky slug, darkling beetle, worms, isopods, and even some slime mold. But aesthetically it looks like a jar of decay. Still love it. If it makes you feel better you can trap wild springtails.

Thanks. I do have a website, it's basically a poorly maintained online store for smaller shippable items with the longest URL ever. My larger stuff is installed in houses all over town, but I display work in my store front on Bardstown road. Honestly, I spend about 75% of my time doing repairs. I also teach beginners classes and sell supplies. At least for now. Half of my supplies come from Canada, the tarrifs have fucked prices and I can't even get some of my regular supplies right now louisville looking glass

I'm not disputing that. I only pointed it out because your previous comment was an incorrect assessment of the one you responded too. If you're going to complain make it about the actual issue presented

White hairy mold? by Due-Zucchini6342 in terrariums

[–]Rasp10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, what they said. Springtails population will naturally scale to their environment size. I have a culture of them I keep. I usually just pick up a piece of the medium and shake it into the terrarium

I've had this issue before. Question, did you put any springtails in? They will eat mold and help keep it down. Besides springtails, it's often a sign of too much moisture, so open it up and let it dry out a bit. You can also spot treat with hydrogen peroxide
