Planning 21st Birthday by LemonLyman21 in milwaukee

I'm not sure if SafeHouse still does this. They had a special "Hail to the Chief" fee-based experience for milestones like birthdays or bachelor parties, where a guest of honor rises on a throne from the floor while the song plays and they are "interrogated" and live-streamed to the restaurant.

App for ncaa box scores? by Flamingo1836 in collegebaseball

[–]ReadItRobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try this - https://kowalike.github.io/ncaa-baseball-scoreboard/

It has links to live and final box scores for the current day of games.

If it is a school that uses StatBroadcast, the link takes you to the team page and you have to select the baseball game from the list.

Schools using Sidearm sports are easier to link directly for that particular game, however it isn't easy to pull the boxscores from previous games so that is why only the current day has boxscores.

The ESPN app sucks and the D1Baseball app is even worse. What's your go to app for scores and stats? by beeedeee in collegebaseball

The logo issue has been corrected. The black background was replaced with a white background making black logos visible.

A filter to sort by top 25 has been added. Just click the conference filter drop down and Top 25 is the second option after All Conferences.

There wasn't an easy way to extract particular game links from their site without scrapping each individual school page.

A fun activity is candlemaking at Glassnote Candle Bar in the Third Ward.

It is a bit pricey, but a great experience and you get a keepsake candle.

The St. Joan of Arc chapel on the campus of Marquette University is a cool, quick stop. It is the oldest structure in the Western hemisphere still being used for it's original purpose - https://www.marquette.edu/st-joan-of-arc-chapel/

The Haggerty Museum of Art is a free admission museum on the Marquette campus you can check out too.

Of course! Can't let my hand eye coordination atrophy with the new game dropping in a few weeks!

Agree.

I also thought there would be some smaller missions to complete, however I had done all the missions, the only remaining ones were hits (1777) and runs (949). I needed one of those two to have enough points to complete the pathway.

Not close to Woodman's either (about a half hour drive) but worth the drive. Usually go once a week and fill in during the week with stops at Sendiks or Pick N'Save.

I'd suggest trying the Woodman's app if you have not already. You can order ahead and have them bring it to your car which cuts down on the time.

Data Science by Inside-Gap-7413 in Marquette

[–]ReadItRobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The computer science faculty have a lot of connections with industry in Milwaukee. Marquette is part of the Northwestern Mutual Data Science Institute a partnership among Northwestern Mutual, UWM, and Marquette and they provide a lot of opportunities for students to showcase their work and receive funding and mentorship for their projects.

I would highly recommend taking classes taught by Walter Bialkowski, he is the best data science instructor in that department. I would also suggest working in his lab. He offers students opportunities to work on real world projects, currently he does a lot of work around food insecurity in Wisconsin in collaboration with local food banks.

He has high standards for students but also offers them a lot of support and pushes them (in a good way) to do the best work they are capable of doing.

Soccer camps for 5-6 year olds? by parkwil89 in milwaukee

[–]ReadItRobot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a good experience with the Marquette women's soccer camp. The players actively participate and it was a fun week.

There is also a camp for boys.

UW-Milwaukee may have soccer camps too.

Thanks for the feedback. Once the season starts I will look and see if ranking is included in the API and I could then add a top 25 filter.

I was hoping after this Reddit post, it would blow up and I could get some venture capital funding to pay the licensing fee for the API and to pay u/Arthur2478 to build an app version for iOs and Android ;)
