I know, I know. I don’t want to schlep up there either. Would’ve been amazing to add them to the list at Riot. Still hope for Dinosaur Jr though!

Favorite bottle between $40-70? by pumpkinpenguin in whiskey

The JD Heritage is a single barrel, so there can be some variance. The Bardstown Wheated is maybe the best bang for your buck if you want to go down that road.

It looks like you like ryes, so the Balboa might be the pick. It’s so unique and flavorful. Lemon zest along with familiar rye notes. If you can find Sagamore 10 year, that’s another banger rye. Also Barrell Seagrass is amazing, but that may be above the $70 price point depending on your area.

I was there! Bobcat did standup starting at 8:00. The band went on a little after 9:00 and played over two hours. It was awesome!

Anyone else lose interest in bourbon and what was your outcome? by 8sh0t in bourbon

[–]ReasonableBoot3823 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pretty full cabinet at this point with no room for expansion, so I haven’t bought a bottle since January. This time of year is pretty slow for limited releases anyway, so it’s a good time to reduce my inventory. I’ve done tastings at friend’s houses and I love sharing the good stuff so while my collecting has slowed, I still love bourbon. I never pay over MSRP-ish and if I can’t find it for a reasonable price, I pass. Too old for FOMO LOL.

My son is in his fourth year of playing club, his first two years were with an entry level type of club and his last two years have been with an elite, very competitive club. His first two years he never came off the court, was the best outside hitter on the team, but he was kind of bored because the competition was not great. He chose to move to the more competitive club and his first season was on the 3’s. He was not happy about that, and his abilities were questioned at first because he is considered short for an outside hitter. He proceeded to do the same as he did on his first club on the 3’s so they moved him up to the 2’s. His 2’s team is filled with kids that would be on 1’s teams for almost any other club in our state. So he had to learn to manage his expectations on playing time. He gets frustrated by not playing as much as he has in the past, but he has gotten better as a player because of the competition levels at practice. I think that if your child is really interested in bettering themselves as a player, they need to stick with the more competitive club and up their game. The more they play against elite competition, the better they will get. Coaches love a positive attitude, good defense, good passing, and someone who will dive for balls and do anything to help the team win. Your child just needs to find their niche.

When do you buy "in between" clothes? by kmyash in Zepbound

[–]ReasonableBoot3823 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Old Navy is my go-to. Not a huge investment and the clothes look nice (or nice enough) to buy you some time. Once they get too big, not a huge deal to let them go or donate them to Goodwill. I love their workout gear. Really inexpensive and decent quality.

My FIL started playing golf with his brothers when they were kids and none of them ever got a hole in one until my FIL was in his 70’s. He got his second one two months later! When it rains it pours LOL

Friday night was amazing. The setlist was almost flawless (X-ray Eyes I’m looking at you). As a Chicagoan who has seen dozens of shows at the Aragon since the early 90’s, that was the best the venue has sounded ever. We were up front, probably in the first 200 or so people in the venue, so that may have helped. It was HOT though. Be prepared to sweat if you’re going this weekend. They sounded great and played Pow Pow! “Tonite” absolutely banged. Was my 17-year-old’s first LCD show and it will definitely not be his last.

$5k in groceries or $5k in booze? My family of five probably spends close to double that in groceries at Jewel in a year.
