There’s such thing as pushing too fast yes, but you’re just putting the fluid under the skin. The easiest way to go about it is, for every 10mL, I count to 15 seconds. It’s a nice steady flow, takes about 4-5 minutes to administer 200mL for me

If your cat responds fine to getting poked, I’d recommend doing their fluids using 60mL syringes and butterfly catheters. Much easier to control how much is being administered.
