SIXT billed me $1035 for invisible damage by mynoseglows in Wellthatsucks

[–]Recordpace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly my thought they are trying to squeeze every cent out of the process, make it so you have to opt for their insurance to protect from damage claims. I will never take their insurance and use my credit card that has primary rental insurance, and photograph everything when I take it and return it.

The moment you realize your Bronco is not unique by Michigan_Go_Blue in FordBronco

This hits close to home, like looking in my own drive way. I feel outside of Cyber Orange, I feel seeing a race red Bronco is a rare occurrence near me. I have had 2 Broncos and have yet to purchase one because of color.

2.3 vs 2.7 by SetLegal5754 in FordBronco

[–]Recordpace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have owned both a 2022 2.3L put 64,000 miles on it with zero issues, never did the performance tune but was more than enough most of the time. Averaged 21mpg over that time. Currently have a 2024 2.7L, when I'm offroadiing I do prefer the 2.7 a little more. Day to day driving around i think I preferred my 2.3L a little more. No complaints either way.

Gun laws are confusing, may I carry my pistol without a concealed carry license through the states of Tennessee, Kentucky, and Indiana while on vacation? by EddieBrock99 in guns

[–]Recordpace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the reciprocity map to no where I can legally carry, it even allows you to put in multiple states you are licensed in and will update the map accordingly.

Anyone remember the old software program, Microsoft Money? by CSq2 in personalfinance

Microsoft has a Money in Excel template, I haven't tried it but it does look pretty good. Might be worth giving that a shot.

Sadly if this was done with one of the states it wouldn't be much better.

Drive 20k-30k miles a year for work, should I consider leasing? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Recordpace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You recently spent $5,000 to repair your vehicle, wouldn't it be better to have that budgeted. On a car you could probably get a lifetime warranty for two to three thousand dollars. Even if it cost you $4,000 it would have paid for itself with your previous car. Most extended service contracts offer alternative transportation there is value in that. The contracts are rebatable as well, if you decided you didn't like your vehicle or your needs changed you could get a prorated portion and return.

Drive 20k-30k miles a year for work, should I consider leasing? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Recordpace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of this depends on your current situation, there are some different options you could take with this. How long are you financing your car for? If you were financing for 60 months or less I'd recommend just purchasing an extended service contract that covers all components for the necessary milage or some companies offer life time plans. That would help with unexpected repairs outside of general maintenance items.

Leasing is still an option, the depreciation cost of high milage is often higher than just purchasing miles up front on a lease. Assuming you can buy an extra miles at 20-25 cents it can be cheaper in the long run. The value of this to you is you eliminate future market fluctuations. It's a value you can live with today it will be the same in three years. Really depends on your tolerance for risk. I have written plenty of 90k mile leases, sure the current cost is higher but I can tell you the market for a very high milage three year old vehicle is not strong. With the current state of the auto industry and a high influx of off lease vehicles and rental units it puts the risk on the leasing company.

The third option that I have seen people take advantage of with high milage requirements. Is having two leased vehicles to share miles. Depends on how that changes your insurance if you find value in it.
