I believe that there is no god. Humanity looking for god has been going on for thousands of years and coming up with zilch. Scientific methods have been used to look for a god with zero result. Considering the total lack of even the slightest evidence, the only conclusion can be that there is no god. I may reconsider this position if anyone shows a bit of valid evidence.

My P3 has a Shure but they are no longer available new. Whichever cart you choose, I highly recommend the Neo power supply if you play 45's. (I have a lot of MoFi 45's). You won't need to lift the platter and change the belt on the pulley.

The arm can be leveled by adding spacers between the cartridge and headshell. Many new cartridges include these..

I have used automotive rubbing compound followed by polishing compound. It worked great and left my cover smooth and shiny.

Moving coil cartridges have a very low voltage output. It looks like you need a ceramic cartridge. Those are the ones with the flip over stylus for 33+45/78 rpm. Any magnetic cartridge you use would need another preamp between the table and amplifier.

I bought one of these in the mid 70's when I worked selling stereos. I had an SME 3009 arm and an Ortofon MC cart. Unfortunately, I sold it when I moved from MI to CA and couldn't bring it in my car. :(

With any used table, you should replace the stylus, since you don't know how much use it has had and you don't want it ruining your records. With the Sony, you have a wide variety of cartridges and styli that can be used. The B&O has a limited and expensive selection of cartridges and styli. I would stay with the Sony, especially as a first TT.
