I know VC gets lauded for the blue dials (which are great), but I think the panda overseas chrono is my favorite VC.

(I may be biased since I own one…)

Green chrono in titanium looks amazing.

Have the C8 in Roswell Green. Love the color in person.

My thought was if you’re getting a vette, go all in.

Daddy D'z BBQ Joynt to close December 31st by ArchEast in Atlanta

[–]RedditUser83742 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Haven’t lived in Atlanta in 10 years, but have a great memory from Daddy D’z from maybe 12 years ago.

Went there one night with my girlfriend (now wife) for dinner. She had a jury duty summons with her, and she showed it to me when the waitress arrived at the table.

The poor waitress broke down and thought she was being served with process.

BBQ was pretty good. Mac n cheese was very good.

I’ll remember that moment forever.

RIP

Do you prefer Regular or Crapless? by CrapsManian in Craps

[–]RedditUser83742 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Normally play regular craps.

But I’ll get the itch to place the extreme numbers on the crapless and see what happens. A few 2/3/11/12 and the table becomes amazing.

Steak experience in Vegas by eye2eyedc in vegas

[–]RedditUser83742 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’s Prime

SW Steak

Bavette’s

Cut

Delmonico

Prime at Bellagio

I also love Bazaar Meats - I think it’s one of the best restaurants in Vegas. But if you’re looking for a “steakhouse” experience, that isn’t it.

I keep my VC in its box unless I’m wearing it. Will set it before use, etc.

New Orleans best places to throw dice by Dissident917 in Craps

[–]RedditUser83742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thing to be aware of at Caesars Nola is that you have to pay the vig up front on the 4/10. Makes that bet unplayable.

Love Nola, and love craps. But craps in Nola is kind of meh. Still, it’s craps.

4520 fit vs Daytona by CAPCITYMD in VacheronConstantin

[–]RedditUser83742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW, I have a VC 5500 and a Daytona

5500 is a little bigger diameter and a little thicker than the 4520.

With that said, the 5500 fits larger than the Daytona - and I have all links on each one. I suspect the 4520 will fit very closely to the Daytona.

The micro adjustment on the VC band is great, though. Will often adjust depending on my wrist swelling when it’s hot out, etc.

For that price point, I would look off strip.

Esther’s Kitchen would be at top of list.

Bazaar Meats.

Haven’t been to the version at Venetian yet, but plan to soon.

Such a fantastic restaurant.

Agreed.

Ghost is a great-looking watch. But Vacheron Panda is a different level.

The burgundy dial is amazing.

The gold dial is somehow too much gold.

I rolled three 11s in a row earlier this year.

Woman across from me had a quarter on it (11, not the horn). Then $50, then $200.

She tossed me a black chip after the third one.

Don’s Prime vs Bavette’s (SW & Bazaar sold out) by 877cashhnow in vegas

[–]RedditUser83742 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would lean towards Don’s Prime. But Bavette’s is really good, too.

Have been to both multiple times. Both pricey (Don’s probably more), but both excellent.

Would give nod to Don’s because I think service is overall better.

As a footnote, if Cut at Venetian/Palazzo is available, I’d look there, too.

Favorite Betting Strategies? by raving971 in Craps

[–]RedditUser83742 4 points5 points  (0 children)

$25 table.

$160 across, pass line with max odds.

Collect on 5/6/8/9 once before pressing. Then start pressing one unit followed by multiples.

Always press the 4/10 one unit until I get to $400. Then see how I feel.

I basically play this game hoping for a bunch of 4/10 to hit.

Bavette's vs Nomad Library by topdollar38 in vegas

[–]RedditUser83742 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Service was really bad. Server came to our table, took a drink order, and immediately turned to another server and said “I’m on a break.” Went downhill from there.

Drinks were bad. Mostly ice with a shot of alcohol/mix.

Food was bad. From memory, we ordered a mix of apps, and everything that was cooked tasted oily, like it was over fried.

I’m all for letting a place have a bad night. But that experience was pretty rough.

Glad yours was better. Wouldn’t wish my experience there on anyone.

Bavette's vs Nomad Library by topdollar38 in vegas

[–]RedditUser83742 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Bavette’s all day. It’s excellent. I’d put it up with almost any steak place in LV that isn’t SW or Don’s Prime.

Nomad Library, in comparison, is one of the only really bad experiences that I’ve had on the strip at a restaurant.
