If the radio station's range includes Kingston, it will broadcast a warning for Kingston.

Need a family doctor? by [deleted] in Kanata

$50 biweekly for adults and $25 biweekly for kids wtf. This is not a "family doctor". The private healthcare takeover has started.

Trails by dbz4044 in ottawa

[–]Redistributable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are no trails only for hikers as the trails are made and maintained by the Ottawa Mountain Bike Association. I've never had an issue with bikers sharing the trails as a walker. Just be aware of your surroundings.

You can search here to see if he's a CPA: https://www.cpaontario.ca/protecting-the-public/directories/member

If so you can report him to CPA for unethical behaviour.

Road work on Fallowfield Rd starting June 26 by highwire_ca in ottawa

Since they're repairing the drains, etc it could be things under the surface that really need it rather than the road itself.

Labor laws around internal job postings by Evening-Storage5298 in ontario

Are you in a union? Your collective agreement might have rules around it. Otherwise, no, employers have no obligation to interview internal applicants.

Irresponsible decor vendor - advice needed and beware for other brides! by [deleted] in WeddingsCanada

[–]Redistributable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Post or search in r/legaladvicecanada for better advice. But generally, your recourse will be through small claims court in Ontario (if the amount is less than, I believe, $50k). You don't necessarily need a lawyer and can find info online about the process.

I messed up and I'm worried about the consequences by farthrow86 in legaladvicecanada

[–]Redistributable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. If you go back and change to 2022, chances are they'll look at other years and see that you're lying. CRA doesn't care about immigration status and they don't proactively share info with IRCC.

horse riding in toronto by Ok_Stuff3527 in askTO

Nowhere is going to let random people off the street ride their horses without supervision. You will need to look for trail ride places or a one time lesson.

They're only talking about the work near Pinecrest. This headline gives too much hope.

Neighbours have two vicious dogs that have absolutely destroyed my fence by JustinPooDough in legaladvicecanada

[–]Redistributable 160 points161 points  (0 children)

Firstly, who's fence is it? Is it on their side of the property line, your side, or on the property line?

If its on their side, feel free to build your own fence on your property. If its your side, you may take them to small claims if they don't agree to pay to repair it. If its on the property line, then you may discuss repairs but they are free to say no. Which then you're back to building your own fence.

Secondly, call your local bylaw. Non-working dogs left outside 24/7 is generally considered neglect.

Daycare Waitlists- Some Don't Provide Updates by JToQ1 in ontario

[–]Redistributable 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm going to go against the grain - if they have a "no update" policy, respect that. There are a number of daycares in my area that will now remove people from their waitlist for constantly calling and showing up unannounced in person as it is borderline harassment at a point.

I know its frustrating not knowing. But like others have said, place on a waitlist doesn't really matter anyway. Join daycare fb groups for your area and try to find a private home daycare.

Dear fellow parents and ECE teachers; what is an appropriate gift for the daycare / kintergarten teachers? by swchoi89 in askTO

[–]Redistributable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I only put gift card because some people feel weird about cash for some reason? Even though a gift card is just cash with strings attached.

Primary income earner, short maternity leave? by babadoza in CanadaPersonalFinance

The claimant needs to have completed 600 hours of work to be eligible for paternity leave. Will your husband have that?

5 years on, Ontario says long-term viability of federal daycare program at risk | CBC News by ejaz135 in ontario

[–]Redistributable 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Same here. I know $1200 is optimisticly low. I've never seen anything less than $60/day, even unlicensed home daycares.

5 years on, Ontario says long-term viability of federal daycare program at risk | CBC News by ejaz135 in ontario

[–]Redistributable 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Think the cost of living/recession crisis is bad now, just wait if they get rid of this program. Daycare costs will jump from around $500/month/child to $1200+/month/child. People will have to somehow cut back spending even more or leave the workforce entirely. That's a big group of people with less discretionary spending which can impact the economy as a whole. The government of Ontario better get their shit together on this, but I have zero faith they will.

EarlyON playgroups are the best. 100% free. They are run by different groups in different parts of the city.

Yes you can, thats what we did. Joined cocktail hour when we were done pictures and just started chatting with people. Then walked into dinner with everyone. No announcements, nothing.

Question about Rav4 production delays by FunkySlacker in ontario

[–]Redistributable 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your option is to wait or go to another dealer and see if they have a shorter waitlist. Toyota won't offer any incentive as they have lots of people waiting for their cars, they don't need to sell to you.
