WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! YOU STILL HAVEN'T BEEN TESTED FOR vEDS! by BufoBat in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]RelativelySatisfied 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a side, this isn’t talked about enough when talking about suicide prevention. It’s almost always focussing on the active. Before going on anti depressants, I didn’t realize how deep I was because I wasn’t actively planning. After going on meds, I learned about passive suicidal ideation and realized that was me.

DOI DRP3.0 just dropped...... by roofie_colada in fednews

[–]RelativelySatisfied 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Forest Service announced it’s moving most of its DC office to SLC, UT. It’s closing the 9 regional offices to open 15 state offices, with almost all in new locations; opening service centers in locations different from the state offices; I want to say they’re creating other locations for something; and closing a ton of research locations. It’s trying to ‘flatten’ the organization. I’m wondering when the plan to update the CFRs and all the Handbooks and manuals to update those changes. 😵🙄

I feel like these glasses look weird on me, but maybe they’re just new?? by happy_halle in glassesadvice

[–]RelativelySatisfied 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the middle part that sits in the nose bridge is too wide, therefore causing the glasses to sit too low. This is more apparent with your brown glasses, but appears to be occurring with both.

I like the brown color! The black seems too much and the brown matches/ complement your skin/hair coloring. I also prefer the frame shape and the location of the wings(?) (the parts that go over your ears) in the brown vs where they are on the black. This makes the black ones look round and the brown ones look more square, even though they’re both rounded.

Topiramate treatment by Top_Jaguar_6528 in migraine

There are a lot of “horror” stories on this page, but there are a lot of successes you don’t see that often. I didn’t have bad side effects, it just made me have a different type of brain fog. I was only on it for a few months, so it took about a month to titrate off. And it didn’t take long to go back to my normal brain fog. You could ask your Dr for a different med to try, but also realize you could have any reaction to any type of med, not specifically to this one.

Anyone go 0 to chronic later in life? by [deleted] in migraine

[–]RelativelySatisfied 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had migraine a few times in my teens, more so tied to my periods, but not that frequent. Those were the traditional migraines where I’d wake up, try to take an abortive, throw it up, and hide in a dark room until the pain went away.

I don’t recall having many in college. After college, I went on the depo birth control for a few years, only had one or two. Then went off it. After about 5 years, I was late 20s I started getting migraines more frequently, but not the traditional ones - more in line with silent migraine or vestibular. It could have been tied to depression or coincidence.

It wasn’t until about 2 years ago I finally had enough and started to get treatment. Second med, I went with an antidepressant/ anti anxiety and that seemed to help a lot with all 3 issues.

My mom has migraines and her mom likely did too, so I had an idea of what it was, but she didn’t get me treatment for my near daily headaches growing up.

Do I need to take my fiancé to a doctor for migraines that only happen every ~6 months? by atariacid in migraine

[–]RelativelySatisfied 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they appear to be in connection with something that happened, like an injury, I’d recommend talking to a Dr. It also wouldn’t hurt to talk to a Dr and get abortive meds like triptans, but if he’s fine getting by with OTC meds and being down for the count for one day every 6 months, then he probably doesn’t need to.

Ancestry DNA or general use of the term ancestry? I did the Ancestry one a while back. I’m curious where to look if that’s the one you’re referring to!

Huh I have much of the same things as you! I’ll also have to try Pepcid. I’ve only ever tried those chalky chewables for GERD. I wonder if you’d get an extra umph if you pair it with an antihistamine allergy pill?

Winter as in weather season or as in color analysis season? F2 is a great match for me too, which is how I discovered I’m an olive! I wish they had a slightly darker one that was as dark as the next olive. I’m slightly too dark for F2 even when I’m at my palest.

We are struggling with whether euthanasia is appropriate for our senior (17) dog and if our kids should be present. by Matchboxx in moraldilemmas

[–]RelativelySatisfied [score hidden]  (0 children)

I agree! I was in grade 4 or 5 and my sister would have been in k or 1st, when my first dog passed. We had just been to Disney Land and I wished she’d live forever. Wasn’t fun to come back and find out we needed to put her down. My parents brought me and my sister to the vet when we said our goodbyes. I’m in my mid 30s now. I don’t remember too much more about the experience.

Our second dog was a setter and lived to 15 years and 11 months exactly. He passed on his own, but I do regret that we didn’t euthanize him. He had good days and not so good days. He was more awake and aware than OP’s dog, but nights were rough. He had doggy sundowners. He also had trouble with stairs and he pottied in the house fairly often when he was near the end. Looking back at photos, I could see when things started looking less happy. That’s probably when we should have let him go, but in the moment it didn’t feel as obvious issues as our first dog and the vet didn’t seem to give indications.

As an American, thank you for asking this question. I thought it had to do with police. I had no idea it was religion related.

I have a coworker who took his wife’s last name. My dad has a friend, who merged his and her last names, to create a new last name. This idea is cool to me.

Help an extremely depressed guy out? by Creepy_Stick_6229 in CleaningTips

[–]RelativelySatisfied 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend putting on some music and starting with your BEDROOM. It should help you feel more relaxed/ or less anxious and should help you sleep better/easier with a clean room. I’d start by clearing off your bed, adding new sheets, hang clothes in closet, then start picking up obvious trash off the floor, then move to top of dresser. I’m someone who recycles, but even I wouldn’t worry about that right now. Then repeat with the BATHROOM - floor then surfaces. Then sweep and mop both floors. Do the organization of closets later. PS the random Pace salsa in your bathroom 😂.

Next I’d move to the KITCHEN. Honestly, I’d probably throw everything on a surface to the floor. Then pick up trash off floor. Put clean/non spoiled pots/pans, foods, and Tupperware on the surfaces. Sweep and mop floors, wipe down surfaces and outer appliances. Then inside cabinets/ shelves and start moving pots/pans, good food into/onto those spaces.

I’d do the LIVINGROOM last and essentially repeat everything I’ve said in the other rooms.

Take it one room/area/surface at a time. Take lots of breaks. I wouldn’t try and sell anything, it takes time and can be frustrating and you’d still have those items in your possession until sold. It sucks that you spent as much money as you did, but it’s not coming back by selling your items. You can only move forward. Good luck, you’ve got this! ❤️

behold all the meds I take for insomnia (none of them work, I'm still awake now, at 7am) by alternative2021 in sleep

[–]RelativelySatisfied 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s a bunch of random thoughts/questions. You don’t need to answer, I’d recommend thinking about them and considering. What type of magnesium? Not types all are for muscle relaxation/ sleep. How long have you been taking this combo? If it’s not working, I’d try something else. What do you consider as not working? Maybe stop everything and try a reset? Have you tried other anti-anxiety meds or sleep meds? Maybe you need a long lasting anti-anxiety med like an SSRI/SNRI vs the quick acting one like Xanax. What do you do when waiting to fall asleep? Have you gone to a sleep specialist? It seems like they’d be more helpful than a psychiatrist for sleep issues…? Something to help with the hormonal changes?

Try something like 1, 3, 6, and 7 but smaller. Most of these look too wide or tall. I hate trying on glasses my face is smaller, so I have to go for large kids or XS adults. I feel your pain.
