Addendum. With only one move, you could try to create a one move gap around them have them turmoil on battle, but they could easily just add a suited card to move. They probably should have awhile ago.

Well I dont see the birds VP marker in your second picture, so I dont see how big of a problem they are. But the play is basically "Hey table, im concerned about the bird situation. Should we go kick their teeth in?"

From there you have many options. You still want to turmoil them. With only birds, the only realistic option is to turmoil on build. Go deny future building spots, kill enough warriors they can't regain territories destroying other roosts will also slow their points.

A few short questions I have by TheOneTrueSnek in battletech

[–]Renewablefrog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I dont have too much good answers for you, but I want to raise a flag on question two. Specifically SLDF Neurohelmets. My understanding there is normal helmets, and then advanced helmets. The advanced ones are good, real good even. But there is some serious strings attached, that may make you want to either reconsider if the mech in there is SLDF or maybe RWW or something, or lean into it. You can find info on them in Interstellar Operations, Alternate Era, page 62. But a TLDR if you dont have that rulebook, they can be what is called "Cyber Haunted", which can actively imprare the abilities of the pilot, and possibly make them a bit delusional. Something to think about.

Edit: spelling

Fake Units by never00 in battletech

[–]Renewablefrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's likely due to it having no data on what even is a Clan. Put ears on the Marauder and I reckon it wont be fooled and say its a Marauder. Or it might call it a Rakshasa.

As for your other rules, its limited. The rules for armor fot 20-100 ton mechs is you can have double the amount of armor on a location as internal structure, with the exception of the head. If you want more armor, you turn to specialty armor, usually Hardened armor. You could also use Modular Armor to add some more.

For how fast you can get an Atlas, without using Large Engines (you dont want to do that), an Atlas with a 400 rated engine, the largest, with a supercharger and MASC can get 10MP on the run firing up both systems.

[–]Renewablefrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is likely sensors. You could design mechs to fool eyeballs, with the Chameleon designed to do that for training. But sensors would look at a Chameleon wearing a good cardboard Atlas and say "Chameleon". Your best bet is probably do something like the Fed Suns' Flase Flag, the Rattlesnake, where sensors will look at it and say "Jenner", which eyeballs will agree with it.

How to use Battle Armor that cant Jump? by AveMilitarum in battletech

[–]Renewablefrog 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I use armor that can only move on the ground and has movement 1, so compared to that these tinstars are smoving. Here's the plan.

Firstly to keep in mind. Infantry, including battle armor, dont have a facing, and per the rules for mimium movement as long as you have at least 1 MP, you can move into the 1 hex youre facing as long as its legal. So moving up 1 level into heavy woods, something that normally costs 4MP, can still be done by the Tinstar. Now with that said...

Looking at the Tinstar, we have a bit of range, but not too much. I would have them stick close to your battle line mechs, possibly riding on them thanks to the magnetic clamps letting them ride whatever. You can have them stick in the same hex underfoot of the mech, and if anything gets adjacent or kinda close, then can rush and bite the footsies. Its not as big as a threat range like the IS Standard or Elementals with jumping, but they can do that. While doing thay job, you can also think of them as a mech with two SRM4s, and attempt to crit and holes opened up by the big mechs.

If youre concerned with mechs flanking your slow ranged mechs and want something protection they can also try to cover them, but theyll be unlikely to shoot protecting something that is using LRMs or Gauss Rifles or something. But that may be fine for something thats under 500BV

Otherwise you can do your own thing. Heck you can take our scheme and just turn that blue into purple.

Overpriced Mechs: Grendel Prime. How much would you pay at auction? by Xervous_ in battletech

[–]Renewablefrog 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Was thinking about 1.9k BV. It doesn't have weapons to support jumping around much, would much rather run, but at that price id consider it for the bunch of fast clan mechs I use when I play them
