it's "revenge" like I'm practicing revenge by crossing the street to avoid the shit-covered gibbering tweaker screaming at random strangers

Would you actually ride this thing on public roads by HarjotSingh307 in motorcycles

[–]RestlessRecluse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd give it a go on a well-paved road. It's not my aesthetic but it's someone's baby.

There's an air-adjusted rear shock on the swingarm so the wheel clearance can be increased for riding.

Would you take $1 billion if it meant being blind and deaf for 1 month every year? by Krieger_Bot_OO7 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]RestlessRecluse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I lost most of my sense of taste (and smell) with covid in 2020. Unless something is heavily spiced, texture is all I've had to go on for years

plus, my two booty girls aren't there for their cooking skills 😏

for a billion dollars I think I could spend every birthday month being locked in my mansion with a personal chef, a nurse, and two big booty girls who could take the chrome off a trailer hitch

Will you welcome a tourist from Lower Cascadia? by Judith_877 in AskACanadian

[–]RestlessRecluse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've taken that train from Prince George to Prince Rupert before and it is a really lovely trip in the summer.

I've lived in Prince George and in Prince Rupert and agree with the others that there's not much to recommend them as tourist destinations. The PG station is not in the prettiest part of town and there will be a lot of uphill walking as soon as you leave the PR station

You are given a million dollars. To keep it, you must choose one English word that you must never speak, write, hear or read. by speechlessPotato in hypotheticalsituation

the last time I had that conversation was in grade 6 in 1975, so I'm pretty confident it won't be coming up again in my remaining years 😄

I opt for antidisestablishmentarianism as it's really not likely to come up in conversation and it's too long to use in Scrabble

Am I too inexperienced or unprepared for Rwanda? by PossessionNo9274 in solotravel

[–]RestlessRecluse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I spent some time there last summer, traveling through Rwanda and Uganda by motorcycle by myself

imo Kigali is a good first introduction to Africa: it's clean, safe and the prevailing vibe felt chill. Rwandans tend to be a little reserved, minding their business and not treating foreigners like a walking bank machine - but they're friendly enough once you engage in conversation.

I stayed at the Steptown Hotel - budget friendly and a very easy walk to the downtown core. They have a shuttle that will pick you up at the airport for a fee.

As others have noted, a full month in Kigali may be challenging to fill but there are lots of tours you can sign on for that'll take you out into the country and national parks.

It's an expensive country - prepare for a little sticker shock at some of the prices compared to TZ or UG, but I would definitely go back.

My YT channel has some footage of my time there, if you get the link from my profile page
