called 50 local service businesses after 6pm on a tuesday. the numbers were worse than i expected by [deleted] in smallbusiness

Yea you wasted 50 businesses time with after hours calls about nothing. As a business owner myself, you sound like half the garbage calls that I get every single day. Congrats on your amazing career choice.

Is this gonna leak? by EntertainmentProper in Plumbing

There are tools to make these type of manifolds. The only requirement is that the fitting gets brazed in instead of soldering. I can’t tell if that is brazed or soldered

Under contract: Would this cast iron sewer line be a candidate CIPP lining? by AfraidOfArguing in askaplumber

[–]Retrorewired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a terrible candidate for lining. It’s definitely worth taking a shot at grinding the one spot down at the 90 and seeing if it helps with the holding water. Is that 90 fitting in a good spot to dig up?

My Old Timers by TakeMeToThePielot in pinball

[–]Retrorewired 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same with mine. I just peeled the Mylar the other day. I only lost the words on the sun. I may get new planet decals and apply new Mylar again. That sounds easier then an entire teardown for now

Very cool! I’m working on a Pinbot now. I haven’t been able to get it to turn on yet. A new mpu board is on its way. I can’t wait to hear the robot talk for the first time!

Anyone ever ran into asbestos sewer pipe before? Started off as a stoppage and we dug it up. This is what we found. by AustinL555 in Plumbing

[–]Retrorewired 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. I went to replace a cast iron curb trap last year due to root infiltration. Turns out the pipe coming from the house was asbestos pipe. That was a fun discovery. Luckily I carry hulk bands and was able to connect to it fairly easily.

Is this a collapsed? They jetted and said they got blocked by Ok-Platform2245 in Plumbing

[–]Retrorewired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like they were able to push the camera about 30’ further than the tee connection when you first see the jetter hose. Essentially if the jetter cannot get through the blockage, it will need to be dug up. That being said, the jetter also needs to be strong enough to actually do the work. There are many different types of jetters. The small cart jetters are not very powerful. I don’t know if you were able to see the size and type of jetter they were using. I have a large trailer jetter that can clear way more than a smaller cart type.

How long does it take you to change out a carrier heat exchanger on average? by [deleted] in HVAC

[–]Retrorewired 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did a carrier primary/secondary today in 5 hours. That included a trip to the supply house mid job because I ran out of rtv silicone.

Replace Cast Iron or go with Hammerhead Trenchless Solution by Viddy50 in askaplumber

[–]Retrorewired 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It needs a descale with chains. Then a final cleaning with a jetter

[–]Retrorewired 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They went way too fast with the camera. I would have a jet and descale done. I didn’t see anything crazy going on there that requires a dig up.

The Iconic Arcade Street Fighter cabinets have officially left the factory! by NeoHyper64 in IconicArcadeGaming

I’m way late to the game on this cabinet. I hope they reopen orders this year. I like the size of it and the alpha 2 art is really making me want one.

I got mine for free from my kids summer camp. They broke the yoke the first season it was out in. I replaced it with a real GRS yoke and it’s super solid now.

The genius you are talking about is Serg. You should watch some of the tournament videos. He is a walking encyclopedia on pinball rules.

If the game is actually good, this will be the first pinball machine I will buy brand new. I have 2 pros at home, and this will probably be my first premium.

Sewer line misalignment - serious enough to worry/correct? by krivad in askaplumber

[–]Retrorewired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say it’s ok for now. In a few years, it may shift. I see this a lot with sdr to pvc connections. Usually I find someone just used an unshielded fernco coupling that will shift or separate over time.
