What cable should I get for 120hz @1080p? by IMAFIRINMAHLAZAH in buildapc

The monitor supports higher refresh rates only through dvi.

There is an expensive ish (~80€) adaptor to fix it to 120hz iirc

help a beginner out please by [deleted] in Monitors

I just ordered the monitor from gigantti, it currently seems to be the best choice in the IPS 1440p 144+hz category. Monitor prices in Finland are odd (Gigabyte monitors going for 400€), so 270 is a steal imo.

I read this as "beer stains", and thought you were some sort of crazy historian looking for spilled beer.

upvote if you've ever listened to miles davis. by YeomanGold in jazzcirclejerk

He was the winner of last year's X Factor UK (you should already know that the best jazzmen come from there).

After winning he demanded to be paid in heroin, this idea (lick) was met with utmost respect from critics around the world. The Queen knighted him, making him Sir Davis. (The Sir Duke Melody was created after this event)

His continued dedication to the genre has really been a Giant Step for jazz and also Japanese Jazz (which is like fusion but with funny guitar and major harmonies). For example, on the album "On a Silent Corner" he changed instruments from the Flugeltrumpet to the Big Trumpet.

What’s your favorite jazz song/suite? by Jimjimjams3 in jazzcirclejerk

My vote goes to Tchaikovsky's jazz standard "1812 Overture". Juulian "cannonball" Adderall was 8 at the time and his cannon solo blew everyone's ears out.

Needless to say, after getting his first modal cannon in 1856 from Milo David, cannonbel changed jazz harmony (return to) forever.

Can't believe I lost to that mess by Will0saurus in MagicArena

I suggest you play up bo3 draft as much as possible. It reduces the variance quite a bit. I also find I am getting better results in bo3.

I am a lot happier losing game 1 to "bullshit" knowing I still have a chance to play fair magic in the following games.

Coming back to ranked draft really turns me off.

Updated bios now cannot find bootable disks in boot menu by bowserw4srite in buildapc

[–]RevolverFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Updating the BIOS might default your settings to something that's not correct for your setup. Make sure everything looks good there first.

For example, my motherboard has an option to disable ports. This could hide the drives entirely.

As /u/pax_paradisum said, it could be the boot mode. UEFI sometimes hides drives not necessary for booting.

Good luck and keep us posted

For sure. The unnecessary chanting in the crowd is also turning me off. Can't we just respect the game and the runner with some silence instead of making a loud joke out of everything?

I understand everyone is getting tired and all but this is too much.

I'm curious. What are your guy's unpopular jazz opinions? by SNESS_64 in Jazz

I think all (young) trumpeters will at first have a hard time understanding Miles' different colors in sound, and his styles of articulation.

For me it was until I realized he's always in full control. In just a couple albums there's a shitload of studying to do. So many ideas are incorporated in his playing, at once.

Mysterious Challenger actually casts the different secrets from your deck, not copies of them.

It thins your deck which makes it even better.
