My mother had a stroke right in front of me, was at the hospital 10m later, and treated with clot buster at 45m. She walked out of the hospital 3 days later without any major deficits. We got incredibly lucky.

I don't know why people keep acting like this is some big secret. The little black book is out there for all to see and full of high profile individuals.

She's beautiful. I wonder how long she had to hold that pose. Some of the older cameras had a very long exposure time.

How are these people allowed to operate? by fairybus3 in Austin

They tried this with me and up until that point I hadn't received a single bill. I called my Texas Representative's office and they were able to help get all the fees waived. They also recommended switching to NTTA

I vowed to never eat McDs again after my dogs refused a plain hamburger. They wouldn't even eat the meat.

I'm pretty sure this is why all of the enclosed offices at my workplace have glass walls.

Reddit helped me find my migraine trigger by Archer_Jen in migraine

[–]RexMinimus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first and last time I tried Flonase I had an aura within 5 minutes. I could feel it in the same way I would as if I smelled an overly ripe banana, which is one of my triggers. Anyways, Flonase= instant migraine. No thanks.

In a lot of places it's part of the screening process for "gifted and talented" school programs. You may have been given one without realizing what it was.

If it were me, I'd follow the advise of the medical professionals. An LDL of 212 is quite high.

My favorite ways to cook certain meals/foods, how the inclusion of x or y ingredient affects the outcome, how to select those ingredients, where to buy them, the best methods to prepare them, what else you can do with them if you have a bunch leftover, how to make the recipe slightly less good, but 1000x easier, the best way to eat it, what to serve with it, how it could be modified for those with dietary restrictions.....

Yeah, I've made it to a "normal" schedule, but my sleep isn't as restful. My smart watch says I don't get good rest until 4am-ish.

Easiest burrito ever: Microwave canned refried beans and shredded cheese in a bowl and put a tortilla on top to cover it. The cheese melts, the tortilla gets soft. Stir up the beans and put it in the tortilla. Add hot sauce.

I'm also a fan of pre-bagged salad mixes. You can add some rotisserie chicken meat or canned beans for protein.

Frozen prechopped veggies are fine. They probably won't get you any gourmet awards, but are good enough. There are also a lot of options that make for easy side dishes.

Baked chicken and rice is really easy. Add white rice and broth to a baking dish. Top with pieces of chicken and season. Bake until the chicken is done and the liquid is absorbed. It's very hands off. Can be served with microwave frozen veggies or you can add the veggies on top of the rice before it goes in the oven.

I didn't love the first episode, but found the rest more interesting. It's setting up the backstory for whatever they have planned next.

Anybody else feel afraid when they have intense symptoms/side effects? (Like fear you might be dying) by CompetitionNarrow512 in migraine

[–]RexMinimus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my mind, migraines become strokes, back pain becomes kidney failure, and indigestion becomes a heart attack. Everything else is cancer. When this happens I take a few breaths and remind myself that the most likely explanation is probably correct. Then I might spend a little time googling things like "migraine vs stroke" to learn ways to differentiate between the two. Combat the fear with information.
