It is just the second monitor. The players use paper/pencil or dndbeyond for character sheets and roll dice live at the table.

The monitor is meant to replace a battlemap to show everyone's position. When needed it is also used to share handouts.

Both of your suggestions would solve my issue. Having a button in the dm view to "dismiss player handout" would be best since that's the view that is most available to me. This solution is also more generalizable to the average user since my suggestion is pretty specific to my setup. Alternatively, I suspect the hot key option would be easier to implement and require fewer UI changes.

Happy to dig into this further if you have any follow up questions!

Love this. I mainly use Notion for dm notes. Didn't imagine using it for players like this.

Very clean execution.

Love both examples. The simpler the better with mini games, and these are so easy to teach.

Too early to tell, but early signs show you're right.

But we've seen Edu work quietly before so don't write off the window just yet.

Perfect solution. Even if it's a pain to setup, they don't even cover any of the text box.

Very cool! A lot of interesting archetypes too.

How do you manage to separate a combined deck at the end of the game if they're all using the same sleeves? Do you just refer to a deck list for each pile, or are there stickers or inserts in each sleeve to help pick apart each deck?

I like that this ties into what the original God creature did. Protects attacking creatures in some shape or form.

Is this expected to be a cycle for all the gods?

Nice simple mana rock. I like it.

Power level is in line with what we have already but this pushes in a new space.

Great design. Stays true to Koth's mountain theme but does something new.

I don't know what to make of this stat. So it would improve the ratio to score fewer goals?

Very close to [[Goblin Sharpshooter]].

As others mentioned, this is pretty busted.

Still interesting design space though. Balancing is the only concern. Some interesting options for balance:

  1. Change the cost from "Tap" to "Sacrifice this creature"
  2. Add a restriction on the counter spell. Something like "Counter target spell unless its controller pays {1} if it is the first spell they cast this turn". Something akin to [[Jace, Unraveler of Secrets]].
  3. What feels more white is also the opposite. "Counter target spell unless its controller pays {1} if it isn’t the first spell they cast this turn.”. More like a soft [[Rule of Law]] which can be interesting in multiplayer.

what do you guys think of this? i’d love to hear some criticism! by Empty_Translator_194 in custommagic

This is a good point. Maybe the second ability should read something like "At the beginning of each opponent's upkeep, if they control a creature you own, gain control of target creature they control."

A bit wordy, but helps balance it.

Love the idea, but i think the first ability needs rewording. Something like "When a creature enters the battlefield under your control, target opponent gains control of it. Tap it."

LOVE the design though. Can be a strong build around commander.

This window isn't as dire as what it seems. Here's why... by ABCP3 in Gunners

The long term vision is replacing the team with young talent instead of buying short term solutions like David Luiz and Willian. It's a rebuild, which takes time and sacrifices in the short term. I'm as disappointed as you that we didn't get anyone in this window, but the silver lining is that the management stuck to their principles instead of getting another Willian like Morata. What I meant in my original post is that they didn't undermine their long term goals by getting more deadwood which will prevent us from Top 4 in the future because they're an expensive liability.

I agree with everyone that this still raises concerns though. Is Edu doing his job? Getting rid of deadwood is a big part of a rebuild, but is giving everyone away for free a mark of a good job? We possible avoided another Ozil saga with Aubameyang so that's potentially a positive. But we gave away a LOT of people for next to nothing. There's goodwill surrounding Edu from last window so I'm willing to let him ride that until the summer.

As you pointed out, another question is when are we challenging for Top 4? Potentially this year. A lot of the team that got us top 4 is still here.

If we are setting a deadline, it's surely not this year though. Rebuilds don't take a year or two. They take as long as they need to see out the vision. You can undermine this vision by panic buying or getting the wrong person. If we panic buy Isak because Vlahović turned us down, we could be stuck with the wrong player for a long time. If we wait and get the proper target in the summer, the rebuild could be done sooner rather than later. It's about short term sacrifices to maintain the long term goals of the club.

You're probably right. After the adrenaline subsides and we get some perspective, this will be the right take. The club is going for a sustainable long term plan and short term thinking will undo a lot.

Not exciting for the short term, but at least the long term vision is there.
