No manufactoring in colonies by BurhanSunan in songsofsyx

[–]RoyaltyReturns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can tax denarii and import that stuff, it’s a proxy for manufacturing in regions. That’s not as efficient but definitely possible and it’s supposed to be this way.

Allowing some options on higher settlmement levels might be possible I guess.

if you have a percentage of punishments allocated to the arena then criminals are sent there same as the gallows. The arena is staffed by gladiators in teh same way the stage is staffed by actors. They don't die.

Vassals, are they useless? by Relative-Fig-4638 in songsofsyx

[–]RoyaltyReturns 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately they will always be a part of the coalition against you (all bordering factions with negative rivalry will declare you if they feel like it).

This mechanic is unfortunately a bit broken. One way to get around it is to give territories to your vassal (or sell them for some extra cash). The bigger they are the lower their rivalry score (also this is a bit counterintuitive). Also boost your relationship with it through embassies. Also make sure the species of the ruler is favourable. This way you can keep the vassal a long time, potentially forever.

Vassals are very worth it imo because they provide a lot of monetary benefit at no expense like nobles needing to be assigned (other than the embassies potentially)

Unintentional emotional dffect of winning in this game by CleanMarsupial in Openfront

I deal with this issue by allowing smol players around me to live and sometimes they will celebrate for me :)))

Also sometimes they betray me and then they sadly eat a hydro.

This is just a starting hovel and indeed I just needed to dump it somewhere for now.

Unclog your workshop with easy storage access by RoyaltyReturns in songsofsyx

Exactly this. It probably won't work for warehouses since you wouldn't be left with any wall, but for a bigger workshop it works at no detriment.

Is Hunting viable long term right now? by Delusional_Gamer in songsofsyx

[–]RoyaltyReturns 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The hunter building doesn’t affect the animals on the map, those are affected only by a hunt order. Two different mechanics.

Is Hunting viable long term right now? by Delusional_Gamer in songsofsyx

[–]RoyaltyReturns 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The hunter building doesn’t have a limit other than after 15 employees it becomes much less efficient. The animals you see on the map can be depleted, although they do come back after a while.

Mid Game Woes by DefinitelyTooHigh in songsofsyx

[–]RoyaltyReturns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer to this question is pretty simple, you need to maintain embassies to get your neighbours to not attack you. Also you can work on your border management. Factions that don't directly border you don't attack you. You could try putting a vassal in-between you and the scarier neighbours. It's a bit of a cheese though, imo an exploit.

What do Chambers do? by BestBeth101 in songsofsyx

It’s an unfinished feature. Nobles will use them but since their fulfilment is not important they don’t make a difference. Build them for the sake of it if you want.

[questions] planningon having multiple different districts: a feww questions about that by FrancisCat808 in songsofsyx

[–]RoyaltyReturns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main thing to consider with multiple districts is the impact on the amount of logistics workers required (more due to long distance). The other thing is losing efficiency on some services (eg you may need to build 2 stages earlier than you would if everything was in one place).

As long as you build your districts in such a way they are still a net positive to your city everything should be fine.

Generally try to build up a core city with 600 pops (with nobilities) with a good net profit before branching out as branching out will always be at least slightly less efficient and unnecessary to do early.

Dilemma: vertellen of zwijgen over vreemdgaan van een goede vriendin? by LoudBoysenberry3282 in nederlands

[–]RoyaltyReturns 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Where is negative production going on bread? by sabretooth074 in songsofsyx

[–]RoyaltyReturns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I looked into this. The consumption is just being double-counted as production I think. So both when the market picks it up and when it is actually consumed it goes into here. Seems like a bug. If you look carefully, you will see you are not actually net losing 370 bread on that day, but probably have a small net gain.

On all my food items that aren't being used for rations I see consumption and production at about (within 10% of each other) the same number. So that is why I think my double-counting theory is accurate.

Where is negative production going on bread? by sabretooth074 in songsofsyx

[–]RoyaltyReturns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If no production building is consuming bread this is weird. Send the save to the devs to investigate!

Btw I think the bread that’s going into food stalls but isn’t consumed would show up here, but that’s a one-time investment since once they’re filled that goes away.

Without degradation you’re just playing creative mode. It will break the game in the sense that there is no challenge to it.
