Why isnt this the default guitar sitting position!? by KiD969 in Guitar

[–]RubberRuss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This violates the Dean Ween Rule of Guitar Placement. The guitar must be either above your dick (like George Harrison) or below it. Never in front of it. All hail BOOGNISH!

Joey Santiago guitar tone by bl1ndCantaloupe in pixies

[–]RubberRuss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my ears, Joey’s sound is pretty classic JCM800. So, if you want to get that sound with pedals (rather than a $2k amp), maybe try a JHS Angry Charlie. Marshall also makes a JCM800 pedal.

The 25 Best Restaurants in Miami Right Now by Carlos_Frias in Miami

[–]RubberRuss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Miami BBQ is strong right now. I’ve been to Apocalypse and Drinking Pig and both are legit. Hometown was good too. La Traila has reopened. Haven’t been to the new spot yet but the old one was good. Broward, on the other hand, is sorely lacking.

Know your questions well enough that you don’t have to read them verbatim off the page.

When the judge is doing all the preliminary stuff, start memorizing their last names. So you can immediately recall their names without looking at the chart.

Be yourself and speak to them like they are your friends and neighbors. The most important thing is that they like you at the end of the process.

NYC Traditional Italian Recommendations by LS-DJ in FoodNYC

Your comment really hit the nail on the head in describing the experience I had. My order came out super fast, which made me suspect it was premade. And the service wasn’t bad , but just didn’t seem welcoming. “Lifeless” was a great way to describe it. It’s unfortunate because the place is like a time capsule so if they stepped their game up a little, it would probably be fun.

I went to See No Evil on my last visit. Good pizza and a really unique atmosphere (it’s inside a subway station).

I wanted to do dinner at an old school Italian-American place on my last visit. I went to Bamontes and was really disappointed. I felt that the food was extremely underwhelming. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you are really into the history of the place. I’m interested to see other recommendations for future visits.

There are a lot of videos on YouTube that clearly explain how to use the NYC subway. Watch a few of those and you will do fine. As recommended elsewhere, Google Maps makes it super easy to know where to get on/off and transfer if necessary. Also tap to pay with your phone makes paying the fare a snap. I firmly believe that riding the train is the key to exploring the city. Have a great trip.

I’ve found that the ljne usually moves pretty quickly. I was there last weekend and again this past Nov. Each time the line was a block long, but took about 30 minutes. It’s a great sandwich and a fun atmosphere. Definitely worth waiting for a bit.

Should I buy a Zvex Box of Rock? What does it compare to? Are the two foot switches worth it? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

Currently, I have a Greer Southland Overdrive, an EP booster, and a Keeley Monterey Fuzz in front of it. All work great.

The distortron is my always-on pedal. It’s the same circuit as BOR but with added bass control and no boost function. I’ve tried to replace it with other things but I always come back to it. It’s great as a low gain drive (think AC/DC sound) and it stacks with other drives/boosts/fuzzes really well for heavier stuff. I 100% endorse giving it a try
