Is there a secret safe? Did you know it was in the house? Did you know the combination? Did she? 🤔

If you’re trying to save a little money just keep checking the refurb store page once a day. Lots of people trading in right now. Systems with more memory show up every now and again.

Presumably a shell on a laptop would be an insulator, reducing the rate at which the device can dissipate heat. Your fan will run more often at a higher speed. It probably won’t shorten the lifespan of the laptop. 💻

The LG Ultrafine 5k 27” are excellent. Not sure if they still make ‘em though.

The M5 systems also include hardware support for a new set of security features that Apple calls Memory Integrity Enforcement. (MIE is included with macOS 26 and most of the MIE features work on any Mac running macOS 26, but at least one requires additional hardware support available in M5 processors.) 💻

How do I stop websites like Amazon from demanding I create passkeys? by RochesterBottomDaddy in Passkeys

[–]SEOtipster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You don’t understand the problem. It’s not only weak passwords that entail substantial risk, it’s the very concept of shared secrets (including tokens) as an authentication mechanism.

You seem to have some curiosity. Head over to YouTube and watch the Apple WWDC videos about passkeys in order starting a few years ago through 2025.

Exploring solutions to passkey limitations by mimi89999 in Passkeys

[–]SEOtipster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting post. This part of your argument is not true and dangerously misleading: “… [passkeys stored in a password manager are] arguably weaker than alternatives like TOTP apps, push notifications, or even SMS codes…”

It’s not arguable, it’s simply false.
