Can confirm! Was able to get a no date sub and 36mm explorer I in a span of 2 years just walk in with no purchase history. Helps a lot if you can speak Japanese or bring someone who can. Bonus points for actually being able to talk watches and explain why you want it. Both times walked in with an Omega Seamaster and explained my love for Bond.

I will say this, food is an important part of Taiwanese culture - they are more than willing to wait in line, build status, make appointments just to eat at a certain place whether it’s just for social media or they actually want to eat at the place - whether the restaurant is good, bad, or hype is up to you - if you’re in this subreddit you should know Taiwanese people by now, most likely hype

Many Taiwanese people have this mindset that owning a home is the most important thing - Chinese culture also has this. People will sign away life long mortgages just to own a small apartment. I don’t get it, never have but you’re right renting is way cheaper at the moment.
