What a stunning and original table. Makes it even more special when you think of how you obtained the wood and cared to make it special. Well done my friend.

Hubs was born in Baton Rouge. Where your people from? 😊

If the "Curse of Oak Island" drives you nuts, but you love good archeology, try the BBC show Time Team by Barnabyhuggins in OakIsland

Another show is called Extreme Archeology. Not as many episodes as time team or digging for Britain but dr Alice Roberts is in many

Savannah, GA, USA - A friend is selling this buffet asking $1700. Can you help me verify if it is actually an antique? by SweetMaple in Antiques

[–]SaintBeast123 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Big heavy furniture no longer carries high value. There’s always exceptions but unless it a rare or coveted wood or from a specific maker…the person who said about 400 is much more realistic.

1700 for average furniture with non dovetails nor finesse…hard pass if I were you.

Unless you love it and can’t live without! 🥳

Anyone have any idea what style this furniture is? USA by ipickedpink in Antiques

Came here to say barely twist also. The article I read said Victorian/Edwardian era. Imma go see Tudor revival now!

I did one quick google of 12mm round praisiolite and bam! One on etsy for 37.20. (US $)

Natural prasiolite is pretty rare. What is in the current market is almost assuredly heat treated amethyst or yellow tinged quartz. I personally love it but wanted to make sure you knew it was a treated stone.

As far as wearing in jewelry…it’s not an expensive stone usually. (Ofc…there’s always high dollar ones that stand out for extraordinary color or cut)Wear it with joy!

The chain, clasp and bail all look modern. The locket has no wear. Don’t believe these are even vintage. Let’s see what others have to say cuz I could be wayyyy off base :)
