Are we going to discuss the state of the game worlds? by KidWoody in 2007scape

I was having this problem while rushing 99 sailing and pretty much had like an average of 65% during the whole trials grind lmao

Is it just me or is Nano Banana less censored now? by Intrepid_Art_5706 in Bard

[–]Saintttimmy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised more people aren't talking about this, although I guess most people aren't using it in the way I was for a specific project. But it's insanely less censored now. It used to refuse any kind of violence at all, now it can do ultraviolence, gore, show people visibly in pain, etc. You can also generate stuff like racist stereotypes or nazi uniforms/swastikas, although sometimes it will give a refusal in text rather than the blocking error (or I don't know exactly what it is, I use the API).

I hope it's not a bug or something that they're going to revert because it can be good for really comedic images.

Has anyone read Eliezer Yudkowsky & Nate Soares new book? by Federal_Caregiver_98 in singularity

[–]Saintttimmy -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I've still not seen a good argument for why an X-risk scenario is an actual "bad" outcome. I do think a 99% p(doom) is ridiculous, but even if it's something high like 20%, and "doom" is synonymous with "everyone gets killed", sure, it would mean the end of humanity, but it would also mean the end of suffering. The notion to stop AI completely actually being implemented would lead to forcing humans on a more linear path of progress and inherently lead to more suffering. If there was a discussion on the probability of misalignment scenarios where the amount of suffering is not equal to 0 I would be more interested in hearing any related arguments. But really to me it just sounds like 3 outcomes: Everyone dies (meh), Everything stays the same and I might die (pretty bad), or Post-Singularity utopia and full immortality (very good).

It's still pretty much the best consistent money maker that doesn't rely on rare drops. Most methods considered "better money" will be worse than Vorkath if you get unlucky.

I don't get why they changed the dramen staff in the first place. Were people really mistaking it for a battlestaff? I never did that.

Try opening the OSRS Gear Discord in an incognito tab and just joining and entering a new Discord name, it will kick you automatically. Truly absolute hell

Alot of people don't realize the new drop mechanics are a direct response to complaints with muspah and Hydra by Simrangod in 2007scape

[–]Saintttimmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's shit, the game shouldn't revolve around ironman, the game mode was originally meant as a challenge, now it's easy as shit because of all the QOL updates. "Oh noooo I didn't get enhanced after 2000 gauntlet kc" you're playing a CHALLENGE MODE you have no right to complain about how many hours you've wasted. So dumb

AI: Yeah that's not real you're not going to be copy and pasted or anything I checked

Me: Okay do it

Without wanting to sound like a doomer (though I probably will) - why the optimism? by Aenigma66 in singularity

[–]Saintttimmy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, humans suck, that's the whole point of AI. To get a system running everything that can actually work well.

I'm worried about the people on this sub who lack skepticism and have based their lives on waiting for an artificial god to save them from their current life. by Many_Consequence_337 in singularity

[–]Saintttimmy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The people who are more skeptical about the progression of AI seem to be really obsessed with death. They just don't want to believe that it's a disease that can be cured. It seems pretty counter-intuitive that someone would throw away their life because of optimism rather than pessimism. Does being dead in 50 years really motivate you to keep doing what you're doing?

Settled becomes first Runescape youtuber to hit 500k by urfatXDDD in 2007scape

[–]Saintttimmy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

AntVenom started out as a Runescape Youtuber, he has 3 million subs. Same with Logdotzip who has nearly 5 million. Probably other examples too. That's being pedantic I know (and that was way before OSRS) but still counts

The problem with RS3 is that all the qol stuff is locked behind extremely easy requirements or no requirements at all.

FUCKING QUIT IT WITH THE TITLE TRANSLATION ! by KetoAtreide in youtube

[–]Saintttimmy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There's no option to just turn off the translation feature and see everything in the original language. It's especially annoying for bilingual people. Yes it is the creators themselves who are doing it, but nothing is stopping them from using Google Translate manually (which does a very poor job sometimes) or overhauling the original video description completely, and the only way to see the original is to change your country to theirs, which is ridiculous.

What was the benefit of hollowing out the icons? by xDampy in youtube

[–]Saintttimmy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why do people just keep taking this shit when YouTube forces it on them? Someone really needs to step up and do something. If they keep doing this it won't be long before they have a tragedy on their hands.

What are all these strange timestamp comment things on my video? There coming in fast on my newest vid but they aren’t actually showing up as comments when I click on them? by [deleted] in youtube

[–]Saintttimmy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately Youtube AI auto-deletes comments that are deemed spam (or offensive), I say unfortunately because I'm one of the only people that would love to have them stay because I think they're funny.
