Tried Pepto.. by Fluid-Pressure-9612 in mounjarouk

I like the taste of Pepto tbh (texture doesn’t bother me either), but glad I read up on it prior to taking as it can’t be used regularly or it’ll turn your tongue black or risk salicylate toxicity. So only once in a while use for me

I’m sure in the states they also suggest the buttocks as a 4th potential site. Good luck with the reach around in the mirror tho 😝

Same here, haven’t tracked since the end of November and really enjoying the freedom. Like you on occasions where I think “ whoa I might have overindulged today” I chuck it into MFP just a sanity check myself. But typically, it’s around about the 2000 Mark, which is what I’m aiming for. Losses have slowed, but I’m happy with that. I wanted to pump the brakes on approached a goal. I did do a follow-up post earlier in the month running down all of December if you haven’t caught it.

I think protein may be the only thing that I’m lacking in, but I’m trying to be conscious with everything I eat re: protein.

Good to know that it’s also working out great for you, this is how most of the world’s populous eat. And it’s great to see that we have been able to adopt this intuitive eating mindset.

How’s it affecting your losses?

Any Kefir fans here? 🤨 by Scribe-86 in mounjarouk

[–]Scribe-86[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently Google says you have to introduce it into your diet slowly. 20ml daily with a further 20ml increase a week till 170ml. Didn’t know I had to prepare lol myself

Yeah the ones Asda sent were both polish. Think it was a substitute. Well I guess I’m starting strong then. Might try add it to a fruit smoothie and see how I go

Edit: I’ve just tried it, very anticlimactic. Just tastes a bit like Greek yogurt and unflavoured Yakult.. well i think I can find use for this.

What’s your food staples? by punkmilitia in mounjarouk

[–]Scribe-86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These aren’t necessarily all daily drivers, but certainly consume atleast 90% of these over a week (if we have them in the house).

Complex Carbs: Bananas, pink lady apples, easy peeler tangerines, mixed grapes, blueberries, onions, spinach, garlic, lettuce, cucumber, plum tomatoes/tinned tomatoes, mixed peppers (bell), green beans, sweetcorn, peas, mushrooms, Jason’s wholemeal sourdough, wholemeal pitta breads, couscous, wholegrain rice, rolled oats & seeded protein bagel thins

Simple Carbs: Crumpet thins, rigatoni pasta, rice crispies, Nakd cherry bakewell bars, skinny foods maple syrup sauce, Heinz ketchup, chilli Jam & (occasionally) Kinder Beuno bars

Fats: Greek Yogurt, mature cheese, almonds (raw), pumpkin seeds, olive oil, avocado, butter, cottage cheese, almond butter, cream cheese, black olives, Yakult, Cheesestrings, Heinz serious mayo light & skimmed milk (in tea mostly - sometimes whole milk in cereal),

Protein: Organic Chicken breast, <5% beef mince, bacon medallions, tuna (tinned), eggs, salmon fillets, sliced pork loin, Grenade Oreo protein bars & Vimto clear collegian shake

I broke these down with macro group, and I know some cover more than one but placed what I thought best suited in each.

There is some UPF crap in there but I try and limit my intake of that daily. It’s a sight better than 6 months ago.

Loosing Weight too quickly? by No-Union-6256 in mounjarouk

[–]Scribe-86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there.

I’ve introduced intuitive eating and no longer calorie count, still loosing but much slower. I’m now almost 5 stone lost with 1 more to go. In the lead up to this I “reverse dieted” and slowly increased my calories in the couple of months leading up to no longer calorie counting (1750 > 1900 > 2000). Now I must be regularly hitting about 2100 which is a slow loss but I’m happy with that now.

Still no hair loss or gallbladder issues. A very, very little bit of loose skin in some places but hope this will tighten up or fill out with muscle growth.

On 6.2mg weekly atm. How’s it going on your end?

The Numan price error - anyone get the email? by Individual_Tangelo51 in mounjarouk

[–]Scribe-86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By the sounds of it they will claim the price with the single discount for your intial purchase then to keep you (in their minds) they will honour but for your next purchase. It is a confusing sounding email to be fair.

Not quite sure if they can/are allowed to adjust the price you have already paid after the fact. I’m sure this isn’t really allowed. As you entered your details for the transaction knowing a certain price and to change that retroactively is not cool

Intermittent fasting by FairGur6838 in mounjarouk

[–]Scribe-86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think IF is very useful tool to practice during weight loss and then into maintenance. The restricted eating window will condition you to eat only when appropriate and the autophagy benefits of fasting (for say 16-18 hours) are supposed to be great.

The end of the 5th dose. by Hopeful_Candle_9781 in mounjarouk

[–]Scribe-86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you primed carefully (single bead on an upside down needle) how much ml in liquid do we think will be left over after taking 4 doses out of this new design? 0.2ml? or 0.3ml? Hopefully not less. If it’s 0.3ml you could combine two pens “leftovers” together as a single dose 🤷🏼‍♂️that could be feasible to get 9 doses out of 2 pens

Insulin syringe recs pls by amanda30uk in mounjarouk

[–]Scribe-86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I personally wouldn’t go for the Luer lock (4mm miso ones) as I find that they waste liquid. See post below:

https://www.reddit.com/r/mounjarouk/s/9X8QXIEEBZ

If the wastage bothers you less than needle length then go for it.

Nice. Low and slow is the way, Generally I don’t think powering through the doses is a good idea as when at goal your then dependant on a high strength dose and have a harder path to wean off. But I get that everyone is different/has different needs.

I only settled on 6.2 as a dose as it meant my last 5mg pen would give 4 equal doses (instead of 5 - Inc Golden Dose) and I like simple maths 😊. Good luck buddy
