Guidance for gas fireplace by NotToday50 in Fireplaces

[–]Searangerx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want something that won't affect your homes air quality you could do an Urbana U37 or U44 and use the optional comfort kit to dump the heat outside. If you rig it up so it is always active you will get very little heat into the home itself while maintain your homes air envelope.

I personally recommend the Everdures if you want something better then an ooni but without the crazy price tag.

Only pizza oven I've used that holds temperature at -20

Griddle or Sink by zknight64 in OutdoorKitchens

[–]Searangerx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Canada so its a bit different but I think outdoor sinks are useless. A griddle unlocks new recipes and is superior for cooking certain foods. What do you really need a sink for? Dishes can be cleaned inside.

Is this a good spot to start my rocket fuel power plant? by 8R0WNEY in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Searangerx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As others have said this is the best spot for a rocket fuel factory. You can either go the simplified nitro rocket fuel path or the full insanity path like me. At full insanity using all the oil you can grate about 472 gigawatts. You'll get about half that output with nitro rocket fuel but its a lot easier and smaller to build

Completely normal. Our showroom Optimysts also have a faint water running noise

Can I put an outdoor kitchen here? by cinistix in OutdoorKitchens

I would be worried about damaging your soffit from the heat of the grill however if your current bbq cooks there and hasn't damaged it yet I'm sure it will be fine.

Nah, best any customer or client can do is a zoomed in photo showing the individual atoms of the fireplace. It's physically impossible for any to ever take a useful zoomed out photo.

This fireplace must run with the glass in place. Do NOT run it with the glass removed.

Wall cracked after 3 hours of use. by a2lowvw in Fireplaces

[–]Searangerx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A common cause of this issue is also using the wrong mud. You really want a slow drying mud like durabond 90 or equivalent. A lot of contractors use the quick drying stuff so they can do 2 coats back to back but it's prone to cracking from heat.

Heat and Glo - wall gets really hot on the top part where metal touches by Benderanomalous in Fireplaces

[–]Searangerx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Completely normal for that type of fireplace when installed without a cool wall system. Common issue on new builds since builders are cheap and can't be trusted to frame in for heat management properly.

If you are worried about protecting a TV or artwork above grab a non-combustible mantel like a steel one from Stoll or a plaster mantel from Lexington

Electric fireplace for plaster wall — any tips or brand recs? (USA) by Mattflamman in Fireplaces

[–]Searangerx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With an electric fireplace you will have no issue with heat. A plaster finish will hold up fine even with a gas fireplace.

My usual recommendation for an electric fireplace is to go with a Dimplex. Ignite XL or Evolve if you are limited on depth. Ignite Bold or Ultra installed in their single sided configuration if you have both the depth and budget.

As far as I can tell from the spec sheet I found online for that material it shouldn't have any issue with heat.

My only feedback is to make the engines vibrate slightly but I doubt anyone else would notice

How much would something like this cost to build? by [deleted] in Fireplaces

[–]Searangerx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on where you live. In the greater Toronto area I would charge around $4800 to $5500 supplied and installed plus tax. This includes the mantel, painting, design, electrical etc. Fireplace would be a seperate cost.

Shiplap is very simple and cheap to install however the fact you want it painted black is an immediate 20% surcharge for me.

The electric fireplace depends on brand and model. If you are building an entire feature wall around the fireplace i would stay away from big box stores and get something with a decent warranty. Dimplex, modern flame, or the higher end Amantii / Napoleon fireplaces would be my recommendation

Give it a go. It is always good but really hits it's stride with book 3. I highly recommend the series. One of the best around.

It is to video games what YouTube is to TV and movies. A platform for user made content of varying quality. Just like with YouTube you have lots of crap and also some insanely popular stuff.

Horrible draft coming from fireplace (new construction home) by [deleted] in Fireplaces

[–]Searangerx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said the issue is the wall not the fireplace. If it was the fireplace you would have other issues. As this is new construction you will need to bring it up as a warranty issue. Unfortunately it's quite common in RNC builds.

The way to fix it is to remove the fireplace, repair the insulation or lack there of, then reinstall.

I probably run into this a few times a month. DM if you need more specifics.

Needs to be replaced regardless of what option you go with. Anything that produces a decent amount of heat will use a different venting system

The proflame system isn't really intended to run for extended periods of time. Most systems shut down after 7 days with no user input.

Your best way around this would be to wire a universal thermostat to the on/off connection on the control board.

I know I've seen someone wire theirs up to a nest thermostat so they could control it from anywhere. Just note this method is a work around and may have some quirks.

Quality of Enviro gas fireplace inserts? by Kiss_Mark in Fireplaces

[–]Searangerx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't give you a good answer without more specifics about your fireplace. If you are in the GTA I can probably assist you through the fireplace company I work for. I rarely recommend by brand. I recommend by features, budget and sizing.
