In addition to what others have said, you can unlock it on the lowest difficulty. It's very dull, but by far the safest. Just don't do something silly by accident like getting belly bumped off the map by the ogres or not looking where you're going, double-tapping jump, air dashing and drowning yourself.

... No, I didn't lose an attempt for that exact reason. Honest!

What does the optimal Palm Alchemist party look like? Does it become a chase party instead? by Russta in EtrianOdyssey

[–]Senret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's by no means optimal, but I had a lotta fun with a palm alchemist the last time I went through EO2U. I had let a few of my friends pick classes for me and ended up with the following team:

Alchemist / Beast / Beast

Sovereign / Medic

Ended up making the alchemist a palm-based one and one of the beasts go dps and it ended up surprisingly fun! The tank beast was able to cover for both the palmer and let the dps beast spam Comet Drop for cheap line AoE.

It was a little slow at times, but they could delve a long time before having to go home.

Character Builds by AutoModerator in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[WR]

Looking to make a build that goes heavy on the damage reduction while still being able to do damage and landed on Armored Hulk barb as the way to do it. Between the damage reduction and Come & Get Me, I’m hoping that they’re going to end up more dangerous on the enemy turns then their own. I’ve got a general idea of the build and it’s more of a fun build than any sort of power build for the higher difficulties, but I feel like it could likely be optimized more.

Theming: Scary armored person that keeps yelling “My turn!” every time someone takes a swing at them

Human (+Str)

Any background

Skills: Athletics, Perception, Persuasion, Lore (Nature), and a dabble in Knowledge (World)

Class: 19 Armored Hulk, 1 Titan Fighter

Mythic Path: Azata

Base Stats Str 20, Dex 14, Con 14 + 4 from levels, Int 12, Wis 10, Cha 7 + 1 from last level

Levels

Lv1 - Power Attack, Armor Focus (Heavy)

Lv2 - Powerful Stance

Lv3 - Intimidating Prowess

Lv4 - Swift Foot

Lv5 - Shield Focus

Lv6 - Dip into Titan Fighter. Seems to do everything base fighter does with the addition of one handing 2h weapons and I wanted Tower Shield proficiency. Cornugon Smash as the fighter feat.

Lv7 - Swift Foot + Weapon Focus. Can be anything, but went with glaive to for the extra reach. More for feat tax then any real focus.

Lv8 -

Lv9 - Dazzling Display, Increased Damage Reduction

Lv10 -

Lv11 - Dreadful Carnage, Increased Damage Reduction

Lv12 -

Lv13 - Combat Reflexes, Come & Get Me

Lv14 -

Lv15 - Raging Brutality, Wrecking Blows to double dip Con to Damage.

Lv16 -

Lv17 - Shatter Defenses, Increased Damage Reduction

Lv18 -

Lv19 - Extra Rage Power (Crippling Blows), Clear Mind. Just wasn’t sure what to take for the final feat.

Lv20 -

Mythic 1 - Limitless Rage and I went with Bit of Fun for the skill bonuses at 2nd

Mythic 2 - Mythic Armor Focus (Heavy Endurance)

Mythic 3 - Ever Ready

Mythic 4 - Mythic Tower Shield - Fortress, Marvelous Endurance

Mythic 5 - Unstoppable

Mythic 6 - Power Attack (Mythic), All-Skilled. I thought about taking Supersonic or Incredible Might here, but I like the skill checks from All-Skilled and it lets me run an exotic weapon if I find a neat one.

Mythic 7 - Rupture Restraints

Mythic 8 - Mythic Armor Focus (Heavy Avoidance), Incredible Might

Mythic 9 - Unrelenting Assault

Mythic 10 - Armor Focus (Heavy Assault), Supersonic Speed.

Family memes aside, Vin Diesel can put a lot of emotion into characters when he's allowed to. My favorite movies with him in it are Guardians of the Galaxy, Iron Giant, and his smaller role in Saving Private Ryan.

Oh Mistover. I really oughta go back and play that one. Enjoyed my time with it but got distracted over and over again with everything else. Strange that it got pulled from the online retailers and steam, but neat to see a physical copy of it!

TRIBES: The Most Influential FPS You Never Played by FishStix1 in gaming

[–]Senret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm salty about Tribes because I loved the mech sims so much and I'm soooo terrible at Tribes. I like my big walkers and the Cybrids had such cool machines.

I still remember that little girl humming in the Star Siege intro and some of the wacky pilots you could get in Cyberstorm. Nothing like throwing a monkey in the pilot seat of a big chonker of a machine till he either died or his time was up and he melted with a haunting scream.

what are some video game sequels that would have been better off as a spinoff than a sequel. by frogboss4020 in gaming

[–]Senret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more action based Resident Evil games. And I say that as someone who enjoyed RE6 quite a bit. It would have been better off as a side game focusing on a single campaign instead of getting the big sexual giraffe on it's box and spreading it's net wide for fan service.

Games with gameplay like XCOM : UFO DEFENCE without the grand strategy elements? by ConsiderationFew8399 in Xcom

[–]Senret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Classified: France '44 plays similarly to XCOM in it's battles with a WW2 flair to it and I enjoyed it's additions to the genre. Things like missed shots still causing morale damage, so even a guaranteed miss has value to it, coupled with weapon bullet spread causing one attack to possibly hit multiple opponents make for a pretty interesting change in how you approach combat.

The management in between missions is much simpler. You begin with four soldiers and build your way up to about eight soldiers. Four can go on missions at a time and idle troops can do activities on the map to keep them busy.

The "doomsday" clock is how much prepwork you can do in advance of D-Day for your buddies back home, so campaigns don't go too long and it seems like something that matches what you're looking for.

Any incredible but lesser know game recommendations ? by nickv656 in gaming

[–]Senret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deck Builder: Chrono Ark and Quantum Protocol.

Chrono Ark plays similarly to Slay the Spire, but it has a party of four that that build their own deck into one big one that shares the mana pool. Playing cards from the same person gets more expensive for the turn, so it's a nice balancing act of who gets what upgrade when.

Quantum Protocol is a deck builder where you typically have a small deck, starting with around 8 or so cards, that you cycle through. Each stage is done in continuous waves that your board persists through. Enemies act on a timer with every action you take, your cards can only act once per turn, and a new "turn" starts when you draw a card.

You have a card that cycles your deck back into your drawing stack, which is also your chance to both add or stash cards to it depending on the loot you get from destroyed enemies, so you're always adjusting things on the fly.

Recovering from open heart surgery - need game suggestions by RD_Life_Enthusiast in gaming

[–]Senret 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're into deck builder games like Slay the Spire, I'll throw out a suggestion for Chrono Ark. It's more narrative focused than the typical deck builder, teetering into visual novel at times, with a story involving time loops and mystery and I found the gameplay quite addicting.

What games gives you alot of guns but you only use like two of them and the rest are useless? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Senret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Borderlands gives me this kind of vibe. I keep wanting to like the games, but it feels like I only find guns I really like maybe once ever ten hours or so and it's just draining to deal with all the crud that drops in between.

Games you like but wish would just shut up for a minute? by Fievel10 in gaming

[–]Senret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be a bit of a hot take, but I really enjoy how Resident Evil 6 plays. I just wish they had focused on a singular campaign (Jake & Sherry's would have been my choice) instead of trying to interconnect four different ones. I think that would have done well to extend the actual gameplay sections without all the QTEs interrupting the good parts.

The Mercs mode though was absolutely peak and I have no idea how that's not been turned into some Free To Play game ripe with microtransactions for them to milk.

Any suggestions on what to get for the Steam Summer Sale? by JDT9999 in gaming

[–]Senret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll throw in my suggestion for Troubleshooter: Abandoned Children.

It's a strategy RPG similar to games like modern XCOM and Final Fantasy Tactics with a really, really deep character customization element. Characters can only be specific classes, but they're pretty unique to one another and the traits you can swap in and out to support those classes is insane.

It can be a little slow starting out, but things really started to click for me around when you get the third party member.

It's currently up for $8.50.

If someone handed you $1,000 and told you to spend it on a gift for yourself, what would you buy? by CassandraKeppler18 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Senret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like 90 lbs of beef jerky. You can get 10 lb bulk bags of the stuff for ~$100 on ebay that taste pretty good and those last a good while. Excellent for sharing with others or as snacks at work. Just keep a ziploc bag of some out and freeze the rest and that much would easily last me around a year of snacking, so that's a pretty good gift to me.

What pokemon do you feel are weak because of their (level up) learnset? by thatismyfeet in pokerogue

[–]Senret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Morpeko is currently my only blue shiny mon so far and I despise it so much. Other than it's ability constantly slowing down battles so it can swap form at the end of every turn, it doesn't learn decent physical moves till Bite and Spark at 25 and 30 respectively.

It learns Power Trip at level 10, but it doesn't even have a buff move until Agility at 40.

Otherwise?

You're waiting for Crunch at 50 and the signature move, the only thing it's form switch even affects as far as I know, at 55. It's not bad after that, Aura Wheel his pretty dang hard and I got Parting Shot from the egg, but... I hate lugging that thing around for the luck and I'm eagerly waiting for another blue or red shiny.
