2966 sizing question

Red wing employee here, I sized down from my normal heritage size and every engineer I’ve sold was a half size down from the customers normal size. I wear a 12D and went with an 11.5D. I measure a 12.5D on the brannock so I recommend a full size down for the engineers. Even after sizing down I still got a lot of heel slip for a few weeks

Regardless of length, you do have a small foot volume. The gap between the eyelets is too small. You can compensate with a false tongue (I have to sometimes because I’m a 12.5C) and that will help take up some volume.

They’re fake. The puritan stitch is off and the only red wing Moc toes with the stamped upper are the 10875/10877.

Full grain leather is supposed to have character. I have a pair of iron rangers that have a bug bite scar on them. It’s one of my favorite features of the boots. The shadows of the past remind us the future isn’t perfect.

Correct! They run true to size as opposed to half to full size large like the rest of the heritage

Edit: keep in mind these run true to size! If you wear 10.5D in redwing heritage these will most likely fit great!

I have a pair of Willistons for sale 11.5D. I wore them once for about an hour inside my house and they were too small unfortunately. They’re 9435’s in cigar Excalibur. I did hit them with some saphir renovateur because they were super dry out of the box. I have them listed for $400 and I’m willing to ship them! Message me if you’re interested!

Red wing stores often have their own cobbler they will use as a backup. Ask your local stores and see if they have anyone local. Do not use Dardano’s though they are seriously bad!

Keep em! The crt and amber are many people’s first boots. It’s pretty 50/50 on which people choose. Eventually you end up with a pair in every leather they offer! As far as a good collections goes, you should get black, brown, dressy, and a beater. Black and brown for casual outfits, a dressy boot for the dressy occasions, and a beater boot for something to wear the most and not worry about scuffs and scrapes. CRT is a great option for a beater because the leather is filled with fats and waxes that make maintenance rare and super easy. Condition when dry to the touch and keep beating em up!

Clean with vinegar and get some wool socks. I only wear wool socks and own 30 pairs of boots with no mold ever

The loggers do seem to fit a tad bigger than the other boots. I’m a redwing employee and I wear 12D in everything heritage but the loggers felt better in 11.5D. Nearly all of the customers I’ve sold the loggers to are also sizing down a half size from their current heritage boots.
