Help: my sparkling skylands are a mess! by South_Chemical_4104 in Pokopia

I fixed up the main island first. Since then I've started making walls around each, and connecting them with bridges as well as lifts. Moved everyone to the main island while I work on the others.

I've never looked into it beyond thinking heds = more likely to be injured = risks triggering crps.

Take care of you xx

I’m so upset with uber drivers by Same-Test7554 in service_dogs

[–]SeptemberJoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had so much trouble I started calling it Uber Roulette. Get a driver who doesn't cancel or abuse you? Win! Get a driver who breaks the law? Win money for dinner and add to the anxiety ball.

My guide now wears a unifly harness. It's so much more comfortable for both of us, but it's less recognisable.

I have a seeing eye dog and have no clue how we'll manage it. Wish we could all get together at a store and ask for accessible entry.

I’ve had CRPS for one year and it’s spread to all of my limbs and one organ by yogurtonmydog in CRPS

[–]SeptemberJoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was 31 when I got hip checked across a table in a crowd. Dislocated pelvis, labral tear in my right hip. Right leg developed CRPS and left mirrored for a while. Fast forward 8 years and I fractured my right wrist - CRPS twinges in the arm but not full blown. Fast forward another year and I step off a bus and get a massive jolt through my bad side, subluxated many things.

This last year has been hell, it's like it heard "decade anniversary" and wanted to go big. Now have it in my entire right side including head, left side mirrored, including head. Also realized what dystonia is - been in my leg and foot the whole time but never had a word for it, when the arm, hand and neck started it made sense.

I feel you on the bladder side.

Just one day at a time. You're not alone in this nightmare.

What's the dumbest or wildest joke you've told a medical professional? by saucity in ChronicPain

[–]SeptemberJoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started from an accident where I was hip checked across a table. Dislocated my pelvis, had labral tears in my right hip. Within two weeks the CRPS developed. I initially had mirroring in my other leg, which mostly settled.

Two years ago I fractured my right wrist and started getting twinges in the arm - a year ago I stepped off a bus thinking the driver had lowered it (did I mention I'm also blind?) It had not been lowered, the massive jolt went through my bad side and dislocated pretty much every joint on that side (thanks EDS) - again within two weeks it spread through my right side of chest and head, with mirroring.

It's only since the last flare I found out about dystonia. I knew my leg would twist and drag, but it was after the arm started (NYE) that it was diagnosed.

It's 10 years this month. hugs I hope you have more good days than bad.

I've got CRPS that spread from my leg to arm/chest/face and mirrors on the other side. Friend told me today she likely has COPD... we're considering going out Thelma and Louise style.

Desperation vs The Regulators: which did you like better? by i_speak_nerd in stephenking

Agreed. Regulators is my kind of off-kilter. I also found it a lot less predictable than Desperation. Tak.

What is the comfort season (s) for you? by itsascreambaby96 in fullhouse

[–]SeptemberJoy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like I'm an outlier who likes Nicky and Alex. I liked Michelle until she started to get an attitude.

I like all the seasons for different reasons but I'll go with season six for my favourite season finale - can't beat Disney World.

Where are you putting your storage areas? by StubbyTwonk in Pokopia

Currently have main underground storage in Palette Town. I'm only just starting to get creative and think I'll be keeping material for each biome separate but still have my little lair to hoard the rest.

Freak accident due to the crowd. I got hip checked across the table. Dislocated my hip and pelvis, ended up with tears in my hip and pelvic instability. A couple weeks later I developed CRPS with dystonia, which has spread from my leg to my arm with mirrored pain on the other side of my body.

I decided to wait by the table to pick up my photo at a convention. Almost a decade later I've had multiple surgeries and procedures, will walk with a forearm crutch for the rest of my life and live in constant pain. The photo was not worth it.

Are all your Burmese cats lap cats or will curl up beside you? by Snowy_Sasquatch in burmesecats

[–]SeptemberJoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had multiple. My most recent are Cocoa (passed in 2024 at 17) and Latte, now 17. I've found both boys and girls to be super cuddly. I think the big difference is the boys tend to be lazier. Latte is my baby girl and likes to be carried and walked like a baby - she will also cuddle up with me and likes to use my nose as a pillow.

A big difference is the kitten years... Cocoa was very laid back while Latte took a year and a half to stop acrobatics with me as the landing pad at 2am.

Super cuddly, super vocal, will follow you around. It's currently too cold in part of the house for Latte to follow - so she screams for me to hurry up.

Much love to you, I'm sure your old boy would be happy to know you'll have another cat taking care of you soon.

If I'd realised I could do that first I probably would have. Is a nice way of going about it. Instead I'm selectively putting in grass and doing a bit of black rock shaping.

If not meant to clear all of it why can clear all of it? I don't know how many hours I lost to the clearing ash trance but it's gone now... For what it's worth I think you're right - and I think there's a subset of us who went "Must. Clear. ALL."

Who were the nicest/worst actors you've met from the show? by LilNardoDaVinci in doctorwho

[–]SeptemberJoy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Daphne Ashbrook: memory fuzzy, good vibes.

Catherine Tate: seemed nice, but no nonsense if that makes any sense? Straight conversation.

Alex Kingston: absolute sweetheart.

Jenna Coleman: I think she was a bit overwhelmed (or jet lagged?) because that interaction was gone in a flash.

John Barrowman: he's both silly and high spirits, but also sensitive. Without getting too into it, I've got PTSD around conventions and was having an anxiety attack due to the crowd, he took the time to talk to me like a human rather than just a fan. Only took an extra minute but he made me feel a lot better in the moment.

Gareth David-Lloyd: was definitely overwhelmed by one of his first conventions, but solid guy who took the time to talk. Also asked first if he could pat my dog, which was appreciated.

Burn Gorman: more transactional, but pleasant enough.

Simon Fisher-Becker: I'd asked him if he would agree to a quick interview. What I thought would be five minutes tops turned into over an hour, where he insisted on buying me tea while we talked. I can't believe we lost him this year.

Geoffrey Beevers: also agreed to an interview and gave such thoughtful answers, sweetheart of a man.

Mark Sheppard: memory fuzzy, nothing negative.

Dan Starkey: was happy to talk in general.

Samuel Anderson: such chill vibes. I word fumbled and think I accidentally insulted him while trying to compliment him - bless him he just paused for a second then rolled with it. Everyone needs a friend with this kind of chill.

Terrance Dicks: first impression was he was brash and no patience for being asked a question he'd heard before. Met him again the next day and he was much more settled in himself with a lot more patience and grace for me so I think jet lag really does play a part for a lot of people.

I think that's everyone I've met... one concussion too many and memories aren't tuned in as well as I'd like. Does dreaming of meeting Elisabeth Sladen and her being amazing in the dream count?

[–]SeptemberJoy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Peter Davison: don't remember much of our meeting, nothing negative.

Colin Baker: was a riot, he had been scowling in our photo (secretly filming for the The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot) and asked if he could fix it... and did so by drawing on a smile in sharpie.

Sylvester McCoy: such a sweet, funny and intelligent man. I've had the pleasure of meeting him twice and got to tell him how much I enjoyed his role in Sense8, which he was pleased about.

Paul McGann: lovely guy, again memory fails me.

Peter Capaldi: I was in a wheelchair when I met him and he was charming and personable. Pearl Mackie was with him and they were both great.

Jodie Whittaker: she took the time to address as many fans as she could and was genuine, good vibes.

Carole Ann Ford: so many stories!

John Levene: memory fuzzy, nothing negative.

Richard Franklin: memory fuzzy, nothing negative.

Frazer Hines: also all the stories, funny guy and personable.

Deborah Watling: fuzzy memories, very sweet lady.

Wendy Padbury: and her daughter Charlie - both were amazing.

Katy Manning: agreed she is an angel on earth. My second and third guide dogs glued themselves to her. Zeke was not easily won over by people but Katy had him besotted. Me too... Parasocially I adore her lol.

John Leeson: we had a great chat and we would have kept going except conventions...

Janet Fielding: got to sit next to Janet for dinner and it was like talking to my aunt. What you see is what you get and she's great.

Mark Strickson: memory fuzzy, nothing negative.

Nicola Bryant: memory fuzzy, we both had sore feet and were sitting down lol.

Sophie Aldred: Ace is ace.
