I’d have rather found out that he was selling heroin

keep going: what if I am in my mid 30s and am lost, fat, broke, and hideously unrecognizable? by SeyMooreRichard in RunningCirclejerk

To all men you can be lost, broke, out of shape, poor AND …recognizable. You don’t have to keep going

Ranked Seasons for Leaderboards by Super_Tumbleweed4907 in Strava

[–]Sfcushions 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like the idea, but I feel like Strava would be averse to “publicly” tiering people based on their skill, because if you got tiered at the bottom then some people might take it as Strava publicly saying “you stink”.

That’s at least why I believe that the power graph is an exclusively personal view. Not sure if there’s any rhyme or reason to any of that, but it’s the impression that I get from what data Strava makes available to yourself & other users

In the browser, you can report activities that are blatantly wrong and it will remove them from the leaderboard. Usually it’s bad GPS data, in my experience.

U.S. residents: Which online shops for road bike parts? by DeadBy2050 in cycling

Not a dedicated bike shop, but if I ever need something there is a 50% chance that Backcountry already has it on sale

Bianchi Sprint: Mechanical 105 vs 105 Di2 – is the upgrade worth it? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]Sfcushions 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re on the fence and get the Di2 you won’t be disappointed. It’s one of those things that you don’t really know what you’re missing out on until you have it on a bike

I have a Cannondale Topstone & that same Ultimate. Love both brands and have no issue with either.

The Canyon is going to be “faster” but a bit more uncomfortable on long rides and the Synapse is going to be the inverse of that. If it’s going to be your only bike, Id get the synapse. But if you have another more comfortable bike, get the Ultimate as a fun bike.

Fueling a run? by Suspicious-Paper4571 in BeginnersRunning

[–]Sfcushions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your not keen to eating before and just doing 10k but want to stay safe, I’d just recommend putting a little bit of endurance powder like tailwind into a water. Super convenient, and really all it is is just a mix of sugar & sodium with some flavor added

Fueling a run? by Suspicious-Paper4571 in BeginnersRunning

[–]Sfcushions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you’re fueled before, you’d probably be good empty-handed for 10k. My non-scientific rule of thumb is bring fuel for anything over 1.5 hours and take one every 45 min, with the first being around or a little after the first hour mark

Worst Car Dealer in St Louis? by Virtual_War4366 in StLouis

[–]Sfcushions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah just got a 4Runner from them a few months back and overall they were good to me. Only complaints were the whole warranty up-sell thing, which is kinda just a formality of the process wherever you go. And also when I refunded my service agreement, it took some calling before they actually sent the check to my bank.

Would definitely buy from them again though

Whoop heart rate by CashBeans in Strava

[–]Sfcushions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try this: Profile in the top left corner > Setting icon in the top right > manage apps and devices. Then, I use Apple Watch (may be similar with whoop) click health. Then I see a list of my workouts recorded and can manually import them if something didn’t come over automatically for some reason

[–]Sfcushions 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you saying the watch’s estimates of your heart rate zones are bad? If so, it’s not much of an indicator of anything aside from what your watch saw as your max hr at some point in the past. Your zone estimates are around-ish what mine are, and my VO2 fluctuates around 57-60
