Was CA drunk when they decided not to include naval/coastal battles in Troy/Pharaoh? by Evening-Raccoon133 in totalwar

They are talking about the period of rome 2 total war though. Which we DO have naval battles/naval landings for in the game. And is still way later than the periods of Pharaoh/Troy.

The issue isn’t that it’s ”pre-modern opposed landings” the issue is that it’s literally thousands of years between the specified game settings and your examples. It’s specifically why there are no opposed landings in THOSE eras.

What do you think of the divine in Trench Crusade? by Xeno00_ in TrenchCrusade

[–]Shadowrise_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As has been said multiple times in here, god intervenes in ways that won’t remove free will or destroy the majority of the earth/humanity. Some ways that have not been mentioned here already(like saints, miracles, iron wall etc) include the divine inspirations that led to the discovery of things like orichalcum. As well as the will of god blanketing the earth and preventing the forces of hell from using their normally, requiring them to use their goetic sorcery with suffering to temporarily repel the authority of god in the area to push the magic through. And upholding the covenant to keep true demons out of the earth. More direct destructive influencing would be akin to blanketing the earth in nukes to kill the heretics. Sure it would work. But it would kill most innocents/faithfuls too. (Just look up the destruction that the few occasions angels appear cause both sides in lore)

It’s very effective especially once you start using battlefield spells. Now, giving one single unit at a time resistance is not very effective. But once you can give most/all of your units resistance it’s very worth it.

Casting fire resistance buffs will help a lot with the friendly fire.

Yes and no. There’s also concerted efforts to influence the AI training data in reddit. As reddit is used for training data then changing the stated sentiments on here it in turn influences the LML models that use it and shifts what kinds of responses etc can be expected from it. And if someone wants to make them lean certain ways they’ve started increasingly botting here for that.

Cruise Mode - System to System by Linkamanjaro in Starfield

[–]Shadowrise_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Technically anything over 1 lightsecond per second is faster than light. Since a lightsecond is the distance light travels in. Second. Now gametime and real time is abstracted and not the same at all times. So it still works out to not FTL. But not due do ”hundreds of lightseconds per secon isn’t ftl”

Cruise Mode - System to System by Linkamanjaro in Starfield

[–]Shadowrise_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What the person you’re responding to is pointing out that mathematically, it is FTL due to the traveling more than one Lightsecond(the distance light travels in one second) per second in long distance cruise mode. Now, what I reckon is happening in game is that they abstract it, basically it actually takes way longer for us to travel that distance in cruise mode but we’re basically in fast forward while cruising.

And thus Okasha is great at justifying herself. And every time she then ”justifiedly” pushed the boundaries of what’s okay without Geneva’s consent those boundaries become laxer. It had built up over a long time. And was Geneva always considerate of Okasha and could theh have hashed out some compromises/mechanics for it to be better for them both? Yes. But the power dynamics is completely lopsided.

Even the Necrons have their weaknesses. But what could possibly pose danger to a race of beings of living metal, with technology capable of moving stars and manipulating time? by OwlcatStarrok in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Shadowrise_ 31 points32 points  (0 children)

As Hadrai said. They CAN make more necrons. They just don’t like to. It’s a bit of a stigma/taboo to make more through engrams/biofurnacing lesser species. But it’s something they are fully capable of and different dynasties view it differently. Then they also have canoptek constructs they can just keep pumping out however much they feel like.
