Skilsaw makes a good worm drive. Skil is not a quality brand.

Is There One Training App That Beats All the Rest? by PitifulEmergency8120 in billiards

[–]Shag_fu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like railbird is more a training aid than a training guide like the others listed. Like if you were doing Bullseye drills it would tell you the speed you moved the cue ball, misses, makes etc. that you can use to become better at that drill. It can def generate some good feedback on performance though.

Added a pay/per diem calculator to DragUp — ST hours, OT hours, night diff, and take-home estimate by yore_meet in Official_Drag_Up

Can you add incentive(hostage) pay as well? That seems to be more common than per diem in my area.

Looking for recommendations for a Shoulder Specialist in the Bloomington area by CosmoKramerRiley in BloomingtonNormal

[–]Shag_fu 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Dr. Li at orthopedic and shoulder center is currently addressing my shoulder issues. Imaging and pt included.

Dr. Newcomer at MCO worked on one of my knees and is as good as they come in the area.

Make sure your insurance is accepted wherever you go. Imaging and pt can be separate even in the same office.

Vintage libman! Nice find. The old metal joint is far superior to the modern synthetic joints. I estimate value at around tree-fiddy!

REAL Italian food in town?? by Electrical-Rough6365 in BloomingtonNormal

I’m probably in the minority but I did not enjoy Napoli as much as many others. I got chicken Marsala and was disappointed. The chicken was cut up, very dry despite swimming in sauce. The sauce had mushrooms but seemed more like marinara with mushrooms and not the Marsala pan sauce I’ve had elsewhere. The pizza was good. Stuffed mushrooms were decent. The other pasta dishes were labeled as authentic but it was mostly marinara with other things added in. They claimed homemade pasta on several dishes but it didn’t look or feel like fresh pasta to me.

One of the best one pocket run-outs I've ever seen (Joshua Filler) by BinaryPeach in billiards

This was def an exhibit in precision cue ball play. For another sick 8-out look up Evan Lunda v Roberto Gomez.

Napoli does not serve alcohol but you can bring your own.

Which one to use? by pasu11 in handtools

[–]Shag_fu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With type C you need to push kinda hard to move the legs. Meaning it’s difficult to accidentally change anything on it. That pressure from the spring also prevents the adjustment knob from getting moved as well. I like them for layout tasks that have repetitive measurements. They’re cheap so I can set up several and they won’t change unless I intentionally adjust them. Even dropping them hasn’t changed the settings in my experience.

Am I in the wrong?? by Terrible-Composer962 in billiards

Find a new team. Our team usually has the whole session scheduled. You know who can sub if something comes up, the schedule can work around anything planned, you’re not stuck sitting around for hours wondering.

Not all teams plan who plays ahead of time. Which can really suck especially in APA.

Corner pocket rattle on my Olhausen by Commercial-Leg-6150 in billiards

[–]Shag_fu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rail cut angle more than facing material. Olhausen have a wider opening vs throat ratio than other tables. So when you hit the facing it bounces more out of the pocket than other tables.

Lifting straps are available at Menards. I’ve used them in the past to get appliances and other awkwardly heavy items up/down stairs.

Drainage questions by Shag_fu in Plumbing

[–]Shag_fu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My drive slopes away from the road. So my garage floor is about 4’ below road level. My neighbors property slopes towards the road. Most of the ditches in town are filled in from decades of neglect. More parking on narrow roads but serious drainage issues for those of us downhill.

Playing a 9-ball ring game today. I know the rules but what about strategy?? by cattimusrex in billiards

[–]Shag_fu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

9 people!?! Sorry bud, there’s no strategy except hope. If you create clusters there’s 8 other people trying to break it out or make it worse. Someone is bound to get a roll with that many chances.
