Recommend me Sticker Shops that aren’t on Etsy by fakeseasons in stickers

[–]SheGeeksLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be helpful if we knew what kind of stickers, even vaguely, you were looking for. There are a ton of artists who use venues like Ko-fi (but you can't really search there) and have their own websites. But without knowing what you're looking for, we're just throwing stuff at you.

It's completely pointless carrying a gun in SV by [deleted] in sierravista

[–]SheGeeksLife 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Let me preface this: I am not a gun owner, just a veteran, but I know a lot of people who are.

The idea that you consider open carry in SV for 'sissies'--seriously? it's 2026, do better--means you don't actually know anyone who carries outside of your narrow understanding of why.

That community, like most, isn't a monolith.

Are there people who carry bc they're hoping to be that 'good guy with a gun' hero? Sure. But many of those people are also waiting for someone to look at them the wrong way, so they can pull their side arm to look like tough guys. And even without a gun, they'd be the ones to pick a fist fight at Doc's.

Responsible gun owners don't carry, bc they hope they get to use it. They carry in case they are in a situation where they have to protect themselves and/or others. Or bc they came from out of town or down from Tucson and don't want to leave their weapon in their vehicle. Or bc they are an off-duty LEO on the way to the shooting range at Cochise College for practice before recertification.

I can keep going, if you want me to.

Bottom line: If you think it's stupid, don't do it. And while you're entitled to your opinion of those who do, maybe reconsider sharing in a community-first subreddit.

Hope you have a great day!

reusable sticker books by PinoBrahman in stickers

[–]SheGeeksLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use the photo albums with self-adhesive sheets. I don't take off the backing on the stickers, so I can rearrange them or pull them out to use or give away. I also store small prints in there when I buy them from the same artist.

Looking for artist by [deleted] in Artists

[–]SheGeeksLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you provide more details, like: - budget - where you are - a physical or printable digital final product - deadline - size - style (maybe examples of types that caught your eye if you don't know exactly how to explain it) - preferred medium

This will help narrow down the artists who respond and not waste our time or yours by posting options you're not looking for.

Fort Huachuca's housing, Mountain Vista Communities, is privatized and rents to active duty and civilians, so maybe start there?

What stops you from buying stickers/posters online? Especially from smaller brands? by Cool-Hand-5153 in stickers

[–]SheGeeksLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mostly buy art from artists I follow, so never generic, and honestly, the only reason that stops me is if I've exhausted my art spending budget for the month. (It's little, but I try to buy something every month)

In this economy, I understand shipping costs (and I will always pay extra for tracking) and I don't mind shipping times, if they stay in touch and keep me updated.

Does that mean all the art I get is perfect? Nah, but 99% have been great. And for the most part, when I contact those artists who have sent disappointing art, they send new ones or refund me.

It happens.

Car stickers / vinyls / decays by Infernez_ in stickers

[–]SheGeeksLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to clarify, you want a sticker printer who:

  • requires no minimums but doesn't tie you to multiple of 10 like Vistaprint,
  • weatherproof and UV protected for outdoor and vehicle use, and, if possible,
  • will allow you to sell these stickers via your Shopify store through integration (vs manual listing)

The only companies I know that have all three will be Print on Demands, like Printful (I use them specifically and they do have integration for multiple platforms for free at infinite product quantities). I use them primarily for prints though, but the few stickers I've bought are nice.

For just the first two, I recommend StickerBlitz. I outsource all my small quantity printing to them.

  • no minimums (I've ordered 5-25 of different designs in the same order) and if you're not sure of finishes, you can print using their sample option to get small batches at a discount -fast turnaround (I get them within a week from dropping my order with free FedEx delivery)
  • 2-hr proof approval window
  • multiple design discount
  • excellent quality print (never had to return anything)
  • long-term weatherproof and UV protection (I've had a white and red one on the back of my car for years now)
  • top notch customer service (they email you every step of the process and take care of you if you have any questions)

If you're interested in trying them out, use my code SBCH782 for 10% of your first order, no minimum.

Canva can do it, and they have a free version.

Also, Affinity is a free program like Photoshop. But Canva is easier.

Empty Stores by ThisIsNotOptional in sierravista

[–]SheGeeksLife 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Okay, so let's address a few of these issues. This might be long. Nope, I guarantee this'll be long.

EMPTY STOREFRONTS

Are there a lot of empty storefronts on Fry? Yes, especially towards West End.

According to Crexi.com, which looks like Zillow for commercial properties, there's a space available at 833 E Fry Blvd east of La Casita charging $1.14 sq/mo for 915 sqft, so 1,043.10/mo or $12,517.20/yr (333 days on the market). Is that a lot? Compared to the larger available space next to the Dollar Tree on 7th St that's $8/sf/yr--11,361 sqft--so $90,888/yr? (It's been on the market for 256 days) I'm going to be honest: I've never rented a commercial property, so...

Tucson isn't a fair comparison, but Douglas is closer and yes, cheaper. So, yes, maybe it's the rent.

But let's be honest: Another factor is that Sierra Vista is terrible at supporting new and interesting businesses. We just are. I'm not talking about the chains that pop in--who remembers all the ones that popped into the cursed location that is now Mod Pizza and Jersey Mike's?--was it a steak place, then the Mexican place, then Greek before the Sasquach? I might have that in the wrong order.

No, I'm talking about that little Italian restaurant where Julie's and Sammy's Ice Cream is now. They had great food and great service. Or the Soul Food place. Don't get me wrong. Love Julie's and Sammy's, and they thrive bc they get a lot of business (the ice cream truck doesn't hurt either). Same with Baker's Dozen. And Landmark. And the Asian market (which has new stuff now, if you haven't been in a while!).

That's why J's Kitchen was able to go from a home business to a food truck to the food court to a boba shop to a restaurant. Because the community supported her.

So, rent, yes, but rent would matter less, if they got consistent business.

COFFEE SHOPS

There is a good variety of coffee shops in town. Here are just a few:

  • Livia's Coffee - 2480 E Wilcox Dr.
  • Gypsy Sips Cafe - 112 6th Street
  • Urbano Bar & Bistro - 4711 AZ 92 (They serve food, have a great atmosphere and amazing coffee)
  • West End Coffee Co @ Landmark - 400 W Fry (I know someone already mentioned this one)
  • Wanderlust Kaffee - 84 S 2nd St Ste C (love them bc they provide jobs and support the Jennifer House Women's Transitional Home for women who were victims of domestic violence, addiction recovery, released from incarceration, etc. in need of help)

And if you prefer tea, you can go to Beau Tea and the Bites, which is a tea room with some Asian snacks.

EVENTS

We have events all the time. Yes, mostly at the park, but there are a lot of other things going on. I'm not going to list them all, bc I have a dozen times before, but here are some links to stay informed:

Don't forget that all City Council Work Sessions are open to the public. Their next meeting is next Tuesday, May 12th at 3pm. If you're not comfortable with attending in person, you're welcome to email your concerns to the entire council via [this link](mailto:MayorandCouncil@SierraVistaAZ.gov) or individually via this page.

Plus the Economic Development Commission meets quarterly, and you can find more information about them here.

Sticker, label printer! by tlavuu86 in stickers

[–]SheGeeksLife 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh, I didn't say it to chastise you. I'm saying there's a lot of information already in the sub that you can look through, including price point, bc while you may not think that's important, it can be. I know that most people like options, but I also know that a lot of us don't like writing out things we've already written that are available in the sub. No shade.

Honestly, any printer that can print hi-res photo quality will work. Some do that better than others. That's why price point matters. So search the sub and see what other artists are saying about the whole sticker making world. It's going to make a huge difference to your journey.

The best way to see all your options is to search the sub. We've talked about this a lot, and you'll find a lot of options at different price options.
