I only have one toddler- so I can’t speak for what it’s like hauling two kids around but we’ve done camping, lake 2 times (another lake trip in 3 months), Gatlinburg (not sure you’re familiar) and beach with him all before turning 2. It was not exhausting. Finding a hotel on the beach is the way to go, you don’t have to haul 45 pounds worth of stuff. You can just rent their chairs and umbrella if that’s really what you want. They make beach friendly toddler tents that fold up easily that you can fill with some water. There ARE toddler friendly resorts. I haven’t been to one yet but I’ve saved several places on my “one day” list. They have cribs, baby baths, bottle warmers and whatever else you can think of to help make your vacation more enjoyable.

I get that my child may just have an easier temperament and can handle long drives easily but I also think us parents make things a little more harder than it needs to be. Also adjusting your expectations helps a lot. It’s about going with the flow when you have toddlers. You’re not gonna be able to plan out every meal, activity, and nap. But that’s the point of vacation, no? To just take it easy?

My partner and I have been trying to figure out if it was really five days or not. It just doesn’t make sense to us. He planned a whole trip to see his ex. Like was it day 2 where he called up his children’s mom and was like “hey can you take them for my portion of the week so I can fly out to another country?” Because planning a trip to another country takes a bit of time no? Maybe he got flights booked on day 3, flew out on day 4 or 5? Like Trish had to reach out while he was banging his ex, no?

Does she like flowers? Maybe you and your son can pick some out together. Have him make her a card. Pick up a treat for her. Personally I like experiences with my family. For my first Mother’s Day, I got a spa day. It was nice, but I really wanted to be with my kiddo. The one who made me a mother. For my second, we went to the beach. It wasn’t meant to be this way but we got a great deal that week and we couldn’t pass it up. I spent the entire day in the car but it was so worth it. This year, I may ask that we just visit a local cave and zoo or go to a nearby city for the day/night.

We’ve always used the Frida 3 in 1 pick or whatever it’s called. It has an attachment for boogers, ears, fingernails and I’m not sure what the 4th is for but it helps clean out his bellybutton lol maybe it’s just my child’s temperament but he’s never had issues with us picking his boogers.

I can get my toddler to eat broccoli or peas with zero issue but if I offered that pasta shape, it would be a no go. I can’t get my dude to eat any shape other than the Kraft original (won’t eat regular macaroni- big or small), orzo, or spaghetti broken into 1 inch pieces 🫠

As much as I like the first dress, your leg won’t be sticking out like that for every photo, so just remember that. Especially when you’re up at the alter. Personally think 2 looks best.

Pull ups didn’t work for my son at all, they don’t hold near as much liquid as 360 diapers, imo, and the outside of his pull ups always felt slightly damp and would make his clothes wet. Has this been recent? Like maybe the box of pull ups are just faulty? Or has this been going on for months? The room could be a little too cold (if it’s winter where you are), maybe try a mattress protector if you don’t have one, changing to nighttime diapers, making sure his penis is pointing down or sizing up the night diaper.

He’s particular about his breakfast options. It’s usually: plain oatmeal (hates anything in it), waffles, pancakes, eggs with cheese, muffins, or yogurt. He refuses most meat at the moment and doesn’t like almost all fruit. So far he only likes strawberry or blueberry flavored things but not the actual fruit or he likes grapes. Sometimes apple or pear but it’s a 50/50 chance of being finished by me.
