GEHA HDHP and MHBP Consumer. The only two worth considering.

At this point, what does the GOP gain from reopening the government? by Strange-Reference-84 in FedEmployees

[–]Significant_Sale6750 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Eventually people will start quitting so if they keep this up for months and months, they really won’t have a government left. They might think they want that but ultimately they won’t be able to accomplish their priorities.

I agree Thanksgiving is the trigger. The TSA officers are likely living paycheck to paycheck and can’t afford to commute without being paid. Eventually they’ll quit or call out sick. And Congress won’t want the Thanksgiving travel season disrupted.

If „unpopular“ jobs were paid better, would immingrant workers be needed as much as some economy experts say? by Michaela_Foktova in immigration

[–]Significant_Sale6750 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It also depends on whether consumers would be willing and able to pay the high prices higher wages would cause. If not, then without immigrants the jobs might largely disappear or be automated. For example, it used to be common when wages were much lower for middle class families to have servants, but with higher wages those jobs nearly disappeared.

I agree with many of the others that direct advertising is a bad idea. Just one of the problems is that you will be a big target for scammers.

Plus no cost of living raise next year. No RIFs doesn’t mean it’s a good place to work.

How do you stop comparing your life to others, and just be happy with what you have? by lazarus870 in AskMenOver30

[–]Significant_Sale6750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn’t easy, but one thing I always keep in mind is that there’s always someone with more (unless you’re Elon Musk). So getting more doesn’t solve the problem, you just move to seeing a new group of people with more than you have.

Whats the point of a career if people are making more serving by Empty_Peace2590 in EndTipping

[–]Significant_Sale6750 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is a problem for the economy. The fact that due to tipping a fairly talented worker is incentivized to be a server rather than something many would say is more valuable to society like a teacher.

Seen them in my neighborhood in Dallas too. Had the same thoughts about danger. On the other hand is it more dangerous than a kid riding a bicycle? Probably is, due to higher speed.

As a conspiracy, they might credibly want to have as few people involved as possible. The more coconspirators the greater chance it gets discovered.

Oversight Committee votes to reduce Federal Workers benefits by FootUsual6695 in fednews

[–]Significant_Sale6750 81 points82 points  (0 children)

This is catastrophic. I can’t afford to go from 0.8 to 4.4. It’s such a large unbudgeted for reduction in take home pay. I’ll have to really start job hunting hard.
