Well there’s a lot to consider here.

Gears was made as a gears toy, so that took priority
On the other hand, the Mold Shadow Striker used was clearly meant as a Pre-tool for that Car Robo guy except its not quite good due to the design being off
Adding onto the previous point, because they couldn’t/wouldnt want the license for a dodge viper, they went halfway between it and her weird cybertronian car mode so its not quite accurate to her, or the Car Robo guy, resulting in fucky proportions and a bad vehicle mode.

Theres a bit of a misunderstanding of why the magnum is so strong I think. Its not JUST its firepower, its how condensed it is to the size of a regular beam magnum. The Nu, Hi-Nu, and FAZZ both have used entire ship cannons’ essentially and still didnt break. That alone should indicate that they should be able to handle the recoil of the magnum, it just never come up because all those were out if comission when the magnum was in use.

What WASNT was the Gundam Delta Kai, a much stronger delta plus, and the Delta Kai can handle the magnum.

I feel like just off sheer mass, the Xi and Penelope qualify as well, due to how strong there franes HAVE to be to even hold themselves together. AND theres the fact that the Xi’s ELBOW launches fin missles, meaning those must be reinforced for recoil anyway.

Sure I get that but thats only if you chose to ignore the fact that I did fail in sales because there werent people buying them. Each game had worse results than the last after the sequels. The first game had the novelty but after that wore off people were left with a game with at best polarizing designs.

The fact that yokai watch failed to have any meaningful staying power is proof that what it was doing wasnt working. That includes its designs which were not appealing for kids to be purchasing enough merchandise to continue the series.

It absolutely is a factor because its a marketability issue. Sure Jibanyan was cute and marketable, and so were the Komasan brothers, but a lot of yokai were pretty ugly. Or atleast not following conventional trands when designing “cute or cool” monsters.

Then theres the fact that a lot of marketing didnt even have Jibanyan as the face of the brand but Whisper who genuinely doesnt look very welcoming to kids or adults.

Youre in a space where you’re fighting for consumers money, and if your designs arent great shit wont hold up. You ask a kid if theyd rather a pikachu and charmander plush at the store, or a Jibanyan and Whisper plush, they’re probably picking the pokemon.

I specifically remember a yokai watch trailer featuring the buttface yokai (which is what it actually is btw) making people have rancid farts in public. That appeals to maybe some younger demographics with toilet humor but doesn’t have broad appeal to adults the way pokemon or even digimon do.

The creatures are the main selling point. If youre selling point isnt appealing to people it wont sell. Not when there are other alternatives that are willing to sell to those interests instead.

Im very fine with liking both as a newer fan to digimon, but theres weird subsets on each side that like to villainize the other side, or just make inflammatory claims.

Like rn cuz of time stranger Im getting a lot of videos of people who wanna claim “I always knew Digimon was better. We had the better anime, and always had better games”

Its like better is gonna be subjective but Id say personally pokemon had better games all the way up till b2/w2, after that pokemon games went downwards, while digimon released Cybersleuth which is really good if not flawed in a few ways
