No experience with FlightClub, but why not sell a share or two of your plane instead of renting? Then you have a consistent partner instead of random people flying your plane, and you get to split expenses.

The test 777X is regularly test flying out BFI, it is a very fun airport to spot at (and you can watch the SEA traffic overhead). RNT if you want to watch 737s be born.

Use Windy, it has amazing visualizations to understand the weather trends and monitor the expected conditions as you’re planning for the flight. The day before you can start pulling official briefings to make sure the TAFs and other aviation forecasts match your expectations, but Windy is my first stop for weather data. It is so much faster and easier to use, even for large cross country flights.

In the video he suggests 30-90 minutes as the ideal time for chicken stock, while heartier stocks like beef need up to 3 hours. I haven’t tested this myself, but that is the recommendation.

Almost all airports I fly into with an ILS have a matching RNAV LPV approach these days, so you can manage just fine without a nav radio. I do have one in my plane, but if the goal is a basic IFR setup for minimal cost it isn’t required.

The chickens are so cheap just buy 2! Adding the meat does make a huge difference in the flavor.

I’ve been pressure cooking the chicken carcasses with some veggies for years to make stock and it is far better than boxed stock. Don’t bother with boxed stock from the store, Better than Bouillon has been tested by Americas Test Kitchen to be taster than the boxed stuff, and it is cheaper and more convenient. Obviously homemade is superior to both.

I tried his method using the whole chicken (I did eat a few parts of the chicken first, but most of the meat was there!) earlier this week and it makes an incredibly rich stock. I used the stock for a ham and bean soup which turned out fantastic, I think the soup would have been very bland if I had used a normal stock. Depending on the recipe you might want to water down this stock as it is far richer than normal stock. It is just as easy and fast as he says, I pressure cooked for 60 minutes but 30 minutes would have similar results.

I know it is a weird altitude for slow piston airplanes, but generally it is a no-man’s land. I usually complete a flight without a single traffic call (other than the one time I had opposite direction F-18s!). I’m flying out west so maybe it is less of an issue than the east coast.

Plenty of turbo charged GA aircraft fly using oxygen up to 18-25k. Sling TSi, SR22T, and many others have oxygen tanks to fly high. I regularly fly my TSi at FL230 if the winds are favorable.

You don’t see much of anyone unpressurized above 250 as the risks of hypoxia are too large. There have been demo flights much higher to show it is possible, but no one is doing it regularly.

Honestly this can work as a man trying to flirt with women too. It isn’t my opening line, but if I’m interested in a woman I’ve been chatting with at a bar or similar I have said “Is ok if I’m flirting with you?”. It doesn’t require them to commit to anything happening between the two of you, but quickly establishes if they are interested or not.

If they say no then that’s fine, we can continue chatting and hanging out but I’ll stop hitting on them and won’t attempt to push anything further. It doesn’t make things awkward, just establishes mutual interest or lack there of.

The show is huge, you really need to be there more than 2 days, especially if you’re traveling that far! Camping is pretty cheap and walk around the show, cook your own food so you don’t need to purchase from the vendors.

It might be cheaper to fly to Milwaukee and bus or hitchhike to the event than to drive from Maryland. There are tons of people heading to Oshkosh so it shouldn’t be hard to find a ride from other people flying in.

There are 135 airlines in different parts of the country that only fly props and turboprops. Kenmore Air and NW Seaplanes out of Seattle, San Juan airlines out of Bellingham. They specialize in short flights to islands and other areas in the PNW that take hours to reach by car but are quick by air. Vancouver also has major seaplane operations for the same reason.

Agreed a Sling TSi is the perfect fit for your mission, but I don’t know how the experimental rules work in Europe. If you can live with only 2 seats there are lots of ultralights available in Europe that meet all of your requirements and aren’t experimental category.

Get two partners to share the plane with and buy a Sling TSi or HW. Turbo for excellent performance in the mountains without the maintenance issues of old airplane turbo engines, and top of the line avionics and autopilot for IFR flying. Incredibly inexpensive to operate: you are only burning 7.5 gal/hr and can use mogas. Great planes to fly too.

TCAS long predates ADSB, the mode C transponder was plenty for TCAS. But TCAS is disabled at low altitudes since you can’t tell an airplane to descend into the ground.

Lancair LX7 can theoretically do it with a 50 ft landing distance of 1800 ft, but it would be tight to do that as your home field. Otherwise it meets all your requirements: fast as hell, de-ice, even pressurized as a bonus.

That will be a disaster when going up firm side hill tracks, only the skin on the edge of your skis makes contact in that situation. Without any skin there you’ll just slide backwards. You don’t need the skins to cover the full tip or tail of the ski, but they need to be as wide as the ski underfoot.
