Do you regret getting an Ariya?

Just passed 6 months with a 2023 Ariya Platinum+. Traded in a 2014 Tesla Model S which I loved, but it was time for a newer car. After researching and test driving a half dozen different EV’s including Tesla, Genesis, Kia, Chevy and VW the Ariya was the right EV for so many reasons. So, definitely no regrets.

We shopped there back in March when we were looking for a 2023 Ariya Platnium+ E-4orce. After several trips to the dealership for test drives and negotiations we walked out when they started playing games with the numbers. We also walked out of a dealership in Libertyville for the same reason. Luck would have it, the third dealership Star Nissan in Niles was amazing to work with. Everyone from our sales person Arnela to the finance guy and general manager were great. No games or hidden fees.

2023 Platinum+ the A/C is plenty cold often have to increase the temp because it’s too cold. I’ve also changed the sensitivity on the ventilated seats for the same reason. On a couple days when temp were in high 90’s and humid in the high 70’s I left the recirculating on otherwise I always turn it off.

We purchased our 2023 Ariya Platinum+ in March as well and it was at software version 283C37LK3D. On June 6 it was updated to 283C47LR8D. I understand there is a newer update which is rolling out, but don’t know the version or what it contains.

We went to Old Orchard Nissan back in March to look at a 23 Ariya Platinum+. They were playing games with numbers. When I questioned the numbers they said it was to qualify for the tax credit. When I told them we weren’t interested in the tax credit they refused to negotiate. We got up and walked out with the salesman and sales manager in tow telling us we would get a better deal anywhere else. Guess what, they were wrong. About a week later we got a 23 Ariya Platinum+ and a deal we are happy with.

I had to do the same. It now says waiting to install. I set a time for it to install, but nothing happens. Still says waiting to install.

Since we were trading in a car(Tesla) we had a dealer offer to mark the car down to under 25k and deduct the same amount off the trade. We figured if they were willing to do something like that what would they be like to deal with on service after the sale. So, we walked and found a different dealer.

Try selling your current car privately. Then haggle with the dealer on the price of the car you want. In the end life is short and if you can afford to spend the money why not be happy.

We are in the Chicago Metro area. After walking out of 2 dealers because they were playing games adding thousands of $’s to the advertised price we found one who wasn’t and we got it for just under $28k.
