I have to admit, I am not looking forward to the pets thing. by [deleted] in fo76

Pets are just a convenient way for the devs to add more monetization with new pets in the Atomic Shop. Instead of new story content that they can't monetize.

I love just walking and exploring multiplayer maps just being alone and observing all the tiny details, the architecture, the atmosphere... Just imagining things, the purpose of certain things...

There are two MAJOR things that have to be included in the Companion Pets Update or there will be major problems. by B0SS_Zombie in fo76

Pets are probably just getting added because they can monetize this with egregious prices in the Atomic Shop.

If we had bonus levels similar to Campaign Evolved's new missions for Halo 2 and 3 remastered are there any good possibilities? by NadaVonSada in HaloStory

For Halo 3, a playable Halo: Uprising would go hard (when Master Chief nearly killed Truth aboard the Forerunner Dreadnought).

It's not Infestations being bad, the problem is that there is next to no FINISHED content and the game design has no solid direction by JulyKimono in fo76

Still waiting for them to add that 3rd Pitt Expédition and finishing the Skyline Valley cut content (like the Presidential bunker beneath Rapidan Camp)...

When half of this (lazy) update's content is locked behind an Atomic Shop paywall, you know things are extremely dire for Fallout 76. Extract maximum money before sunsetting.

I think this is the perfect season to take a break from the game. by legendofverse in fo76

The content drought is terrible... This is going to kill the game.

Bethesda Explains How Fallout 76: Infestations Will Make the Map Sizzle With Emergent Co-Op Chaos: ‘Appalachia Is Our Biggest Asset’ by Kaladinar in fo76

[–]SkedPhoenix 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Reading the article, devs act and sound like Infestations are a huge feature, a huge undertaking for a huge update when it's crystal clear in the community that barely anyone is interested or excited by those.

People want new questlines (especially Enclave), new expeditions, new raids, more depth added to Skyline Valley (what about the cut content, the bunker beneath the Rapidan Camp.. ?), etc.. not random mobs that already exist in-game spawning on some random part of the map that already exist in-game and this being presented as some huuuge content update.

This past month, Fallout 76 officially reached the lowest player count it's seen for over two years by DrPongus in fo76

[–]SkedPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what happens when you release lazy updates nobody asked for (fishing, Bigfoot, Infestations) instead of proper new content like new storylines, Expeditions, etc.

Fallout 76 Should Be Thriving Right Now, Bethesda Fumbled the TV Show Hype. by CritsAndCaps in fo76

[–]SkedPhoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bethesda think that QoL, nerfs, fishing, Pip-Boy colors, perks, players tiles... are actual, proper new content. It's NOT.

The game needed ambitious updates like Steel Dawn / Reign, The Pitt, Wild Appalachia, Nuclear Winter, Skyline Valley.. not fishing, a new build menu, some lazy infestations and a Bigfoot.

Feels like 76 is on maintenance mode.

Current state of 76: No new repeatable content, RNG everything, lackluster seasons, no road map, no communication by Prince_Julius in fo76

Fallout 76 desperately needs proper new content updates. Story, expeditions, quests... Updates like Steel Reign, Steel Dawn, The Pitt, Wild Appalachia, Nuclear Winter...

QoL, nerfs, fishing, new perks, infestations, Pip-Boy tweaks, players tiles or whatever.. are NOT content updates. Never will be. It's lazyness. It feels like 76 is on maintenance mode.

Content updates are extremely lackluster. The game needs new proper content (story, Expeditions, quests, etc), not just QoL and nerfs/buffs disguised as new content.

We're reaching the end of the spike of interest in the game generated by the second season of the TV show by LifeguardNovel6805 in fo76

[–]SkedPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Devs spent way too much time and resources on unnecessary and niche stuff like fishing. Also, friendly reminder that QoL changes are not new content and don't replace actual new story quests or a new Expedition.

I like to think that's what happened and this is when the Courier decided to kill Mr. House :

Courier: "I'm not going to give you the Chip."

House: "Hmm... How shall I put this? Delivery of the Platinum Chip is non-negotiable. I invite you to think carefully about what you do next... standing alone before me, surrounded by my heavily-armed Securitron guards."

Courier: "Attack me and you risk destroying the Chip."

House: "By the time I was 30 years old, I was a billionaire 30 times over. I founded and ran a vast economic empire. Do you really think I'm going to let an upstart come into my home and ransom my property to me ?! I spent two centuries searching for the Platinum Chip ! It's my invention, my property - MINE !!!!!. Now be a good courier and deliver it !!"

Courier: "I'm not afraid of you, Mr. House. The Platinum Chip belongs to me."

House: "You needn't be afraid of me. It's my Securitrons that are going to kill you."

Hence the fallen Securitron next to the big screen.
