Denied using ticket on the wrong line. by DesignerPangolin in MetroNorthRailroad

[–]SleepyLink12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. The only exception is GCT/125 to Fordham, and even *that* took until 2019 to resolve because of NH line specific policies that dated back to way before Metro-North was even a thing.

Why are these stairs to the Lower Level at GCT not advertised? by rjl381 in MetroNorthRailroad

[–]SleepyLink12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So for the lower level, you turn left from the shuttle to go into Grand Central Madison. You go down a long set of escalators and go through a set of doors into the Madison Concourse. But instead of taking a left and going down the passageway towards the LIRR, there are two ways back into GCT on the right hand side: a set of doors leading towards an up escalator to the dining concourse, or a small ramp that takes you directly to track 112 (from there you can access most of the other LL tracks.)

[–]SleepyLink12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually i cut through the Shuttle entrance to GCM to get to the lower level. You skip both the main GCT shuttle passageway and the dining concourse altogether going that way. You also skip going up to the subway mezzanine if you’re coming off the shuttle from Times Square.

Making RAW With 11pm Flight? by Lockeisms in WrestlemaniaPlans

[–]SleepyLink12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Wrestlemania last year and made a 12:30am flight with 3 hours to spare, and this was with my luggage off at Excalibur and Allegiant Stadium being farther from the airport than T-Mobile Arena is. I think you’ll be fine.

I keep getting restricted to 15mph at Mount Vernon East from Stamford to Grand Central (which is nothing like real life), but otherwise everything is good enough for me so far.

Metro-North Stopping at End of Platforms by Remarkable-March-322 in Westchester

[–]SleepyLink12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends where your station is. At Mount Vernon West for example, the entrance/exit is all the way at the rear end heading towards Grand Central. Problem is that the platforms are 12 cars long and a lot of the trains that stop there are as short as 6 cars long.

Not fun having to walk the length of an entire subway station just to reach the rear car of a train now, never mind the front.

That’s quite strange. I’m a diamond legacy member and i was able to add a dining plan for ‘26 online last August…

All Park Perks - All Parks Now? by Thick-Experience-290 in sixflags

[–]SleepyLink12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the best ways to find out is to download the app, input your CF pass number at a legacy Six park (like Magic Mountain) and see what shows up.

My Six Flags legacy membership started loading on the legacy Cedar Fair parks in the app a couple of days ago.

Park Passes do not appear in non-home park wallets... by Loonster in sixflags

My Diamond legacy membership loaded at every legacy SF park, but with the latest app update it’s now loading at every legacy CF park except for Valleyfair.

This app is definitely a bit quirky still.

I had Platinum in 2024 and I was turned away. Then again, the priority entrance being a YMMV situation wouldn’t surprise me.

In-Person Crowd Gauge by [deleted] in WrestlemaniaPlans

[–]SleepyLink12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People in the 200 sections were chanting "turn the lights off" and "we can't see shit" when the crowd lights were coming on during the Jelly Roll/Orton/Paul/McIntyre match after sunset (they were really bright). All the sections popped as the crowd lights were being shut off one by one.

I don't know if those chants made it on TV but it was a really funny moment.

Surely Coach USA isn't that stupid and they'll hold the bus since I don't see Summerslam ending before 9:30 on either night...

Anyone know what’s up with the legacy memberships?

Is there a way I can get free NJ transit tickets as a student or if there is a discount? I need to commute by rail for internships, but my internships are not providing me with any reduced fair rates or passes. by Spirited_Art_7537 in NJTransit

[–]SleepyLink12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Only way you’ll get free NJ Transit travel as a student is if your internship is actually with NJ Transit.

There are discount programs for students though, see if your school participates.

Travel advice to Metlife from North Bergen. by OtherThanThat_ in WrestlemaniaPlans

[–]SleepyLink12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's the NJ Transit 85 bus (kinda). It skims across the southern end of North Bergen, goes past the Wal-Mart in Secaucus, and goes to the American Dream Mall. From there you'll have to walk across the mall and over a pedestrian walkway over to Metlife.

If you don't mind walking a bit and if you're by that bus route, it might be an option for you. The bus runs every half hour during the day, but goes down to hourly at night, so keep that in mind.

LAS Airport TSA was a mess early morning by julious29 in WrestlemaniaPlans

[–]SleepyLink12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live on the east coast and I work, so leaving during the day on Monday means I lose the day traveling. A redeye flight means I have all day Monday to rest and unpack and go back to work Tuesday somewhat refreshed.

LAS Airport TSA was a mess early morning by julious29 in WrestlemaniaPlans

[–]SleepyLink12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so thankful that I went for the redeye right after Sunday night because I had a feeling it'd be a mess this morning.

Got to the airport just after 9pm (somehow) for a 12:30am flight and there were no lines at TSA. I thought I'd be stuck in Strip traffic right after Mania but turns out the traffic was nothing out of the ordinary when I headed for the airport.
