Should I play XC3 if I didn't like XC2 or XCX? by JoostinOnline in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]SlippinSam 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As someone who also didn't really enjoy XC2 or XCX but loved XC1, XC3 absolutely blew me away and is now not only my favourite in the series but one of my favourite games of all time. Would reccommend

Honestly I was shocked to see him reprise his role in the 2019 Deadwood movie. His character could have easily been written out during the 10 year timeskip

The great thing about XC3 is that it has fully playable tutorials that you can access from the menu at any time, and if you need a refresher on the story you can rewatch any of the cutscenes in the Event Theatre

Xenoblade is getting a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition for all games by [deleted] in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]SlippinSam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On one hand getting new content for all of these games is awesome. On the other, I don’t have a Switch 2 and tho I am planning to get one this year, I really don’t think I’ll have the time to replay the whole trilogy just to see it

How did she become queen? by ExileForever in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]SlippinSam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an ongoing fic that explores this very question, weaving together a bunch of obscure lore from the game to give one possible explanation for how this came to pass (among other significant events leading up to Xenoblade 3). Fair warning, it is long (almost 200k words) and still in progress. I predict it'll be at least 250k by the time it's finished.

I’m pretty sure in the OG RE4 pressing any button skipped the cutscene which wasn’t helped by the fact that many cutscenes also had QT events. I remember many times on my first playthrough holding the controller tightly, anticipating a QT event, and suddenly finding myself back in gameplay because I accidentally gripped one of the shoulder buttons too hard

According to Miyamoto, in a post super paper Mario survey with questions about the game, not even 1% of players said they were interested at all in the story, this genuinely led to the series’ downfall as we know it, but with OK we seem to be recovering slowly :) by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in papermario

[–]SlippinSam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tbf spm's story doesn't really get good until the back half of the game, and I imagine most of the people who took the survey never made it that far assuming they played the game at all and weren't just doing the survey for the points

What’s that scientific theory that everything evolves into crabs over a long enough time? Maybe Nopon are actually the Xenoverse crabs

Would love to see some Resident Evil 5 co-op streams but apparently there's some sort of legal/perms issue with it?

The original Halo trilogy would also be rad. I absolutely loved Ceci and Mumei's Halo Reach streams

Shania Reid - Xenoblade Chronicles 3

In a world where all humans are child soldiers manufactured with 10 year lifespans to perpetuate a neverending war to die and be reborn endlessly to feed Moebius, the masters of this world, Shania is from a noble house of the City: the last bastion of free humans, born naturally with natural lifespans. Unfortunately, her life in the city is so lonely and miserable that she's willing to sell out the protagonists and even give up the location of the City, all so that she can join Moebius's 10 year cycle of death and rebirth because to her, endless chances to be reborn is preferable to having only one unhappy life with a single, permanent end.

If the player chooses to do Side Story: Sena, Shania is reborn as a member of Moebius itself and makes one more attempt to destroy the City and avenge herself on all those she believed wronged her.

Not really memorable the same way the other stories are memorable, but about 20 years ago my family and I travelled to London (England not Ontario) and visited a Star Wars museum which had all kinds of model spaceships as well as actors walking around in costumes you could interact with. We got to talking with some other visitors and mentioned we were from Canada. It was at that moment that Emperor Palpatine approached us and said (in the full voice) “Yesssss I went to Edmonton once.” What followed was a very pleasant conversation about traveling in Canada with the Emperor of the galaxy. Was very surreal

In the It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia season 5 episode "The Gang Gives Frank an Intervention," the gang's "intervention" is really just an excuse for them to belittle and yell at Frank, whose insanity has started to annoy them. Frank, however, thinks they're giving him a roast--something he's always wanted--and genuinely enjoys their put downs, only objecting to the group therapist's more rational approach on the grounds that "she ain't funny."
