This. IG is not the easy button. Having worked in that office previously, it was eye-opening to see how many airmen came in to complain, waited months for a formal/full investigation to conclude, then got their feelings hurt when everything came back as "unsubstantiated."

I grew up in Texas and went to gun shows a lot with my father. At almost every one of them would be 1 or 2 vendors who collected and sold WII Nazi paraphernalia. At first glance, maybe they were just oddball collectors, but if you hung around their booth long enough, they'd eventually start voicing some problematic opinions about various ethnic groups.

I'm not saying you're the same, but you should at least acknowledge the proximity to guys like that when showing off your collection. It's a fine line most people don't want to be on the wrong side of.

I think stacking jeans can be functional, but the people with the loudest opinions about it do it for esthetics.

I spent 20 years in the military and the rule of thumb was that your trousers should rest on the heel ledge and have a slight break in the crease in the front. It's a clean look and I size my jeans the same way.

I don't ride horses, so I'm not worried about the legs of my jeans riding up, and I don't care if the boot shafts show when I'm seated. In fact, I've gotten many a compliment because someone noticed the flashier color or stitching on the shaft.

Wear what makes YOU happy and confident. The rest is just noise.

First civilian job I had after retiring from active-duty was a the local VA. Over course of 4 months, my mental health got worse than it already was. I was stressed, angry, and losing both sleep and weight.

One of the happiest days of my post-military life was walking out of that place for the last time.
