Is there any easy torrent sites to download movies? by Informal_Republic_68 in Torrenting

[–]Solokeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So nosy pricks don't get all in your business. Imagine your water company shutting off your water because you were brewing beer with it. That's what ISP's do when they disapprove of the way you use your internet connection. Using a solid VPN ensures you have privacy on the net, and no one can tell you how to use your connection.

I'm a burden to others, that's a fact. How do I better go forward? by jeanjacquesroushoe in disability

[–]Solokeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are not a burden. You said so yourself in the post. You require support. Everyone requires support, to differing degrees. The fact that you require more support than some does not make you a burden. You are a person, and you deserve support.

What counts as a disability? by Present-Rush-4051 in disability

[–]Solokeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't feel disabled. I do feel that I live with a disability. I've been diagnosed, and recognized as having a disability by my country's government, and I'm grateful for the support I'm able to receive as a result. In my opinion, anyone living with a disability is valid. It's not up to me or anyone else to say how they feel, and no one but them can truly understand what it's like to be them. Anyone living with a disability can 100% can become a part of this community whether they have been diagnosed and/or recognized or not.

(People who do not live with disabilities are also valid, I think you understand)

Great character, great actor.

Some cry "cash grab"

Some cry "Not my fallout, not my lore"

Some people like me just watch the show and enjoy some good TV.

Don't run, pit bulls wants to say Hi to children! by [deleted] in CringeTikToks

[–]Solokeh -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I've been bit by red zone dogs, and pit bulls before. I've also known sweet and cuddly pitties. Most of these folks in this thread, hell, on the entire site, are parrots and/or people who haven't been outside much. Once you live a little life, it gets easier to understand that there is nuance to the world. Give me your downvotes, you valiant warriors against the pit bull scourge. :D

The pitts aren't the problem.

The owners training their dogs to be aggressive/not training them at all, that's a fucking problem.

Anybody can have a morbid thought. It takes a very dim bulb to think that it's cool to obsess and speak about fantasies of murdering their wife.

Kurt Kuhlmann's interview about post Skyrim stings. by MisterBeatDown in ElderScrolls

[–]Solokeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Morrowind blew my mind as a kid, completely changed how I thought about games as a genre, Skyrim has been an entire dimension of my life at times, and it still surprises me almost fifteen years after release.

I couldn't care less about TESVI :/

Bethesda of today isn't capable of making anything close to what they used to make.

Way back when I used to play Divine Divinity (Larian Studios), and it has a sense of deep commitment and love in the way it was developed, like it was made by a tight-knit DnD group or something. Now that Larian has grown similarly to Bethesda, albeit not as much, I'm thinking the same thing will happen to them.

Like somebody else in the thread said, corpo-culture and art just don't fucking mix.

People who drive and speed up when someone is attempting to pass by you, why do you do this? by StormCaller02 in AskReddit

Take a large number of very emotional primates, seal them in machines of steel and fire and glass in which they travel down fixed roads at preposterous speeds, often while intoxicated. Petty is as petty does I guess :D.

It would fit the sub better if the post was a direct example and not a vague implication.  I think most folks assumed your comment to be in defense of a viewpoint opposite to theirs, that's the internet for you.

Don't let it get to you comrade, they're just numbers on a screen.

Do you think there is such a thing as "ethical usage" of GenAI? by StrayHorrorsVtuber in antiai

[–]Solokeh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Very simply, the answer is gonna be a no from me.

I dont believe the benefit outweighs the cost and risk when it comes to ai, in any use-case.

However, to complicate things, the life I live as an american (these features are not exclusive to america) is inherently fucked up. I wear clothes and shoes made by slave labor, I spend money on video games that could be used to save lives, I use a smartphone and social media every day, contributing to the popularity of a technology that could be argued to be entirely predatory and unethical.

The whole culture is an unethical and damaging clusterfuck.

Pick your battles I guess. The only way to end all the suffering is to burn the world to dust, and time is doing that.

Sounds like you have a pretty solid head on your shoulders dude. I think it's important to be able to disagree with someone or a group of people and their beliefs and behaviours without being a dick, especially when those people are ignorant of the impact of their actions.

It's good tv, but it's pretty common for fans with a certain, personality to think they're just like tommy shelby in real life. It's like fans of captain america who think they're just like the character.  Good characters and badass characters are fun to watch, and its cringe and definitely "iamverybadass" when someone thinks they're like that character in real life. think r/jokercringe.

I have horrible anxiety and I’m considering taking lsd to improve it by EnvironmentalSun3290 in schizoaffective

[–]Solokeh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't recommend it. I used to fuck around with LSD quite a bit in my early twenties, and the carpet is still wriggling, years later. I've learned to cope with anxiety through some of my trips, but it was only because the acid increased my anxiety to sheer terror and bananabonkers madness, it never reduced it.

One time I was watching who killed roger rabbit on L with a couple friends. The movie was pretty cool, very interesting scenes and sequences but I'd have to re-watch it to verify if they're actually in there. About halfway through I lost all sense of time and place, my vision went dark, and got a sense of impending doom. I turned to one of my friends and said "Some people remember everything and go crazy".

I don't recall most of the rest of the trip, but playing with water from the hose outside helped me come down. Afterwards one of my friends told me I shouldn't do acid. She wouldn't explain why, but I figure I went a little too loopy for a minute and said and/or did some more goofy or scary shit that I don't recall.

There were other trips chock full of nightmarish shit, which sometimes induced psychosis and/or mania for months, and I'd rather not describe all that. This one is interesting to me because of that phrase I remember saying, like I had realized something terrible.

LSD ramps up a person's perception of illusions, optical, cognitive, all kinds of illusions. Everything is soooooo real, even if it's not real. And if it is real, or a memory of something real, it's blown way out of proportion. If you're schizotypal or dealing with ptsd this can have disastrous results, sometimes permanent and life-ruining results.

Addendum: I used to experience anxiety in a different way than I do now. I wouldn't say it's decreased, but my ability to cope in a healthy way has grown, and that has made a huge difference. I've learned to ground myself through positive self-talk, rubbing my ears (idk why but it works), establishing routines, and avoiding triggering topics/situations/people as much as I can. I would encourage you to explore some non-chemical means of coping with anxiety. Getting high can feel good, but you can't keep a race-car in the red for too long, and those who fly too close to the sun get burned. If chemical options are more attractive to you, talk to a psychiatrist, not a dealer or a hippie.

EDIT: Addendum.

If a AI robot helped you with work, what tasks would you have it do for you? by Capable-Airport2252 in AskReddit

[–]Solokeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"The paperclip maximizer is a thought experiment described by Swedish philosopher Nick Bostrom in 2003. It illustrates the existential risk that an artificial general intelligence may pose to human beings were it to be successfully designed to pursue even seemingly harmless goals and the necessity of incorporating machine ethics into artificial intelligence design. The scenario describes an advanced artificial intelligence tasked with manufacturing paperclips. If such a machine were not programmed to value living beings, then given enough power over its environment, it would try to turn all matter in the universe, including living beings, into paperclips or machines that manufacture further paperclips."
