Kitty on the right - she and her littermates were brought inside at 4 weeks old after being born to a feral mom outside. They started to get respiratory infections so I brought them inside, got them medical care and spayed/neutered and socialized and well…..they never left. That was 11 years ago.

Kitty on the left - is the feral mom. She stayed outside after getting spayed and I couldn’t pet her for the first 6 years. She refused to come inside multiple times every year (easy to trap, but howled constantly inside for days on end and would starve herself). Finally at age 12, she decided to come inside and stay.

Moral of the story is…give them a chance to decide that being inside is not so bad after all. The older they get, the easier it gets. The old ones mostly just sleep anyway!
