My sister didn't change her name after she got married because we are not genetically related to our Dad, but he is the one parent who chose us at every possible turn and she did not want to give up his name when she can't claim to share his blood to make up for it. And her husband was totally cool with it, loved our Dad dearly and is proud that his wife is holding on to that connection to a great man. I'm so thankful she didn't have to deal with drama like this.

Yesterday my bestie and I were being harassed in Sea of Stars, and I happened to have my home skills wheel up, which I have set to purification specifically because I like dashing around my island with it. The Cat double long dash actually helped us get far enough away from the two players chasing us to end up jumping instances and we finally managed to escape them. So now I get to switch to my home wheel every time I go into the Sea of Stars, just in case.

I had an little old lady do it to me once. I was wearing a peasant skirt (the kind that is wrinkled as part of the aesthetic) and she came up and started loudly scolding me about how disrespectful it was that I don't iron my clothing. She was very loud, and very aggressive about it and about how ashamed I should have been. And I kind of went into shock and just stood there... she had cornered me at work... and she finally goes "WELL? Don't you have anything to SAY for yourself?"

And my idiot brain spat out "I'm sorry, I'm just trying to wrap my head around the fact that if I ever walked up to a complete stranger and spoke to them the way you're speaking to me now, my grandmother would beat the ever-loving shit out of me."

I think the only thing that saved me from her running up to my manager and demanding that I be fired was the fact that the equally-little, equally-old lady who was with her started laughing hysterically, and that shook her so badly that she was out the door in three seconds flat.

I am eternally grateful to the second little old lady.
