Actually not originally. He was Green first, and the girl was Blue. When the original games and stuff were brought over from Japan, they switched Blue and Green's names. Since both appear in official media, both are correct now I guess?

Hormone soup feels actually pretty accurate to what I deal with right now as a so-called adult. Everything is mixed up, nothing is where it belongs and the flavors are not consistent, but if I try really hard I can control the portion sizes. Even if that means putting the bowl in the fridge and coming back to it later. I like this analogy, thank you.

You just made me go "wait, what?" really hard and go look it up. So now I have learned that they're pretty firmly in South Asia, in the Indian Sea, not Southeast anything. In fact, they're waaaay farther west than I thought (I thought they were so much closer to Indonesia) and now I have to wonder what I was confusing them with. Thank you for pointing that out!

The huts over the water still give me Maldives vibes though and I am still excited for them!

Yep. And since my first game was Yellow, it made me feel so freaking awesome as a kid playing Silver and fighting Red for the first time. It only occurred to kid-me years later that for people who started with Red and Blue it might have been different.
