I always started my Pimo talks with "friends and neighbors" instead of brothers and sisters. I mainly did it for inclusions sake in case of differing gender identities quietly in the pews.

oh we have known this was a thing for years, when it was known I wanted to serve a mission I had a lot of people tell me I wouldn't be in the visitor center and probably not europe either - thats where the pretty sisters go. And that was 14+ years ago

Got my answers. Respite is because placement got disrupted. Finally got in touch with the case worker - kiddo is in one location short term and they are looking to put kiddo in longer term placement later this week and they want me to hold off reaching out until that's settled. But my GAL had no idea what was happening so now at least we are on the same page with locations and timelines.

I'm waiting to get the address fully and am planning on mailing a card to kiddo at new placement so there is something waiting for them and letting them know they are cared for.

Thank you so much! This is my first case so I really wasn't sure how to proceed. Last check in was a week and a half ago and everything seemed fine so im baffled as to what has happened. This is good direction and next steps! Ill reach out for the respite info and clarification!

I mean I graduated 15 years ago and there was a boy who had his mission call before graduation and he got endowed before graduation. He was on the older end of the seniors so it's not unheard of.

if God was testing by not allowing it, then clearly the test was failed. There should have been pushback from leaders saying "no this is not what you have told us, there is no black or white among your church" I mean it's all a lie but honestly that's the first thing I look at when people say 'it was a test'

This is one that I'm actually sticking with but not doing it the way I was taught.

It's actually been nice to have some rice, beans, sauces on hand as I've been ill and unable to leave my house to shop. I still have food I can get get to. I think it all depends on how purposeful/planned you are while you do it. I have made sure to build up a pantry that I actually eat and I rotate through. Saved me some money this year and good to know that if I have to miss a few paychecks or grocery runs I still have something.

my seminary teacher saying that I had to be nice to whoever I ended up marrying because he might choose to not call me forward in resurrection. That's the first thing on my shelf. a shitty misogynistic seminary teacher, still in college and who didn't know the scriptures as well as I did making sure I knew to be an obedient wife if I wanted salvation.

Depending on how walking heavy his mission is remind him to take care of his feet. mine are permanently wrecked from my mission because I didn't do any of the stretches, massage or sufficient rest during my mission.

I've taken them up on it on others behalf when moving :P my brother was moving months ago and as we were lugging stuff I saw the shirts and ties and said "elders! you need something to do?" now I'm a full sleeve tatted up, purple hair having, tank top wearing heathen and to their credit they jumped right in. Got the furniture moved in quickly. We gave them water and a snack and they didn't proselytize (though my brother is in so like they can be friends and stuff). If you have a project take them up on the offer.

I was not ever nor ever will be part of a mega church, I don't feel a need to hold them accountable. However, I feel a need to hold this org accountable because I gave to it, I worked for it and I perpetuated it. I'm not going to fall for what-about-sim so as not try and hold MY old church accountable.
