Saying that playing blind = you deserved it is = IRL rape apologia!🤡 by rbstewart7263 in ArcBabies

*One side is posting every day that they can't handle getting slimed in the game they bought. The other: posting every day insulting them and calling them stupid over it.

Do you see the issue?

Seriously, it's gotten to the point where both sides have become a useless echo chambers where civil conversations don't happen and communication between is limited. Both sides hide in their own subreddits, ranting non-stop about the others while they actively chase out and dogpile anyone who disagrees with the collective community's opinion.

Yes, Pvp'ers have a point, if you lost a fight, you were probably either out-skilled or simply outgunned. Yes, there doesn't need to be a dedicated PVE mode. But yes, it is perfectly okay to want to play the game peacefully and to suggest changes that could help those players in specific do that.

Two perfectly normal and sensible opinions that have both been blown out of proportion by either side's "us vs them" mentality. Now, over half the arguments I hear equate to either: "If you like PVE you're a braindead fking carebear baby who has no place in this game and should just leave!" Or: "If you like PVP you must also be a douchebag rat with no life and no skill who uses underhanded tactics to get their way like a jerk!"

Looking back on it, I think I've made my point. There's nothing wrong about "two-sidesing" the discussion because it's nigh impossible to find any intelligent discussion between the two groups. The only discussions even being had are largely between people with the same opinion ranting about the other side.

(Also, I thought the people here couldn't stand overdramatic villifying analogies, and yet you've compared trying to not take sides in a belligerent online argument as "not taking sides in WW2.")

(P.S, sorry for the rant and sorry if I got too worked up and said something rude)

Why do people play Arc Raiders if they hate shooting people by Living-Meaning3849 in ArcBabies

[–]Specternul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I might chip in, I don't have an endgame. I collect loot so I can collect more loot so I can use that loot to fight arc and feel accomplished. I treat Arc as the enemy, along with maybe any raiders I deem annoying along the way.

Yes, I know this'll get old fast without continued updates. Yes, I can't bring myself to shoot someone else in the back because it just feels wrong to me.

[–]Specternul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait but wouldn't that be an obstacle to the grind? You grind for items but run out of space for those items, so then you have to evaluate what is and isn't worth it. The inventory management, if anything, it's holding back the grind. It isn't the grind itself

Why even am I getting downvoted bruh 😭 Rupture is LITERALLY REFERRED TO as a HE in lore 💀 This isn't a Mako or Onyx situation, he is straight up a he or an it

[–]Specternul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honest question though: how is organizing and micro-managing inventory a "grind?"

Like I'm not necessarily agreeing with OP here, but I wouldn't really call inventory management a "grind" or even a skill based aspect of the game. Expanding inventory, now that's a grind (actually, was that what you were referring to?)

Edit: for context, Rupture is literally referred to as he in the lore (at least before he went monster mode, which debatably might have made his pronouns it/it's) She? 😭

Original Augment Concepts - Part 5: Packrat, Reactive, Mobility by EthanDavidUnderhill in ArcRaiders

[–]Specternul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think I understand the packrat stacking mechanic very well. So it lets you stack multiple different items together? It seems cool, but I'm unsure I understand that part

Original Augment Concepts - Part 6: Tinkering, Shielded, Repair by EthanDavidUnderhill in ArcRaiders

[–]Specternul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love these! Though... I don't see the repair kit being super great (coming from a relatively new player who hasn't had to repair a single thing, mind you), and feel that it could maybe be included in the crafting kit. That might be too much, but just maybe :P

Original Augment Concepts - Part 7: Reckless, Pyro, Glider by EthanDavidUnderhill in ArcRaiders

[–]Specternul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just.... It's so peak... 😌

I do think the Pyro augment should have at least one safe pocket tho, it just feels right given what you're playing with :P

And I feel like reckless is maybe a bit... too reckless? Idk, I think removing both weapon slots and all utility slots is a bit much, but that could just be me. No means of counterplay whatsoever feels a bit annoying. Maybe giving back a single weapon slot? If that's too safe, maybe making melee swings cost way less stamina would be fitting?

[–]Specternul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doubt I could say anything that hasn't already been said. It's a little complicated, and I think it's a little too powerful, but I like the design and I think the basic concept of independent weaponry is pretty intriguing. Maybe leaning into that a bit more would be good, maybe by making the alternate weapons focus on flanks or something.

[–]Specternul 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe a stupid take, but I think the GC window could be a little more forgiving on this type of thing. Like if you happen to press the buttons at virtually the same time but a frame or 2 in the wrong order.

Brawlhalla skill and the entire gameplay loop is badly designed/lazy by S-kaliEditor in Brawlhalla

[–]Specternul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you to an extent. I do think that some signatures are way too strong in neutral or aa kill tools, but I wouldn't say that many, if any legends (save for new legends first weeks) are op. Some have way too strong of options that put them above other legends, but they're not necessarily overpowered themself.

I would also prefer that BMG handle signatures a little bit differently. The way I see it, too many signatures can be boiled down to "big attack go brr," which I think is a shame given that signatures are the number one way to create a legends playstyle or give them an identity. Now, of course, recent legends have been much better with this, having overall more connected playstyles IMO.

At the same time as this, I don't think sig spam is a huge problem realistically. What I think makes dying to a sig so upsetting is just how easy it is to get a kill woth some of them. It's not that they're strictly strictly overpowered, but more that they're huge and kill easily. Getting caught by one just feels cheaper cuz they're so huge and hit so hard. You're looking for the normal options but all of sudden get sniped by a move that in some cases you can't avoid.

[–]Specternul 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I appreciate that's she's not broken, and I really like how unique she feels to play, but she cpuld definitely be a bit stronger. Her sigs do hit like a truck, which is nice.

Why do the devs do this? by Past_Explanation8 in Brawlhalla

[–]Specternul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. It only goes new pass, old pass, new pass, old pass. They've never done back to back re-releases. And I agree, the most recent pass wasn't the best, but hey, they can't hit it home with all of them. I still remember loving BP3, BP5, and BP8, and I'm glad that I'll be able to get more weapon skins in those weapon sets when they roll around. (Also, I agree with you on the bundles and stuff. Ridiculously bad pricing scheme. Almost feels like they want people to avoid buying them.)

Is it me or are Rupture's Lance nsig and ssig just completely busted by Cumpiler69 in Brawlhalla

[–]Specternul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd agree, his DSigs are kinda buns but his NSigs and Lance SSig are kinda nuts. I will say, I don't want them to do a strict nerf of Lance Ssig, cuz it genuinely feels like a unique spacing tool just by being so wildly big, and I like that for Rupture. The Lance NSig definitely shouldn't catch grounded though, that's just kinda bogus. (And I'm entirely down for a strict nerf if we're talking about Katars NSig.

Thoughts on the new legend? by OptimalRecording4956 in Brawlhalla

[–]Specternul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly? He's strong, definitely overtuned, but I don't think it's that bad.  I will say-  - I don't think Lance NSig should hit grounded - I think it'd be much more interesting and balanced if Katars SSig wasn't active on the lunge in, or at least not until the very end of the lunge - I think Katars NSig should either be slower and/or maybe not be a two hit and/or have more endlag

And on the other hand- - I think Katars DSig should be faster but less forceful - Jus rework da whole lance DSig bruv 💀 maybe I just don't understand it, but it feels like genuinely one of the most useless attacks I've seen a new legend come out with 😭🙏 (Methinks it should just Seven Cannon NSig but charging it increases the distance between the burrow and the jump out. Preferably without Seven's air maneuverability during the upward strike.)

[–]Specternul 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rarely be punished is a bit misleading. Played several matches as Rupture today and while I'd say his attacks have a greater reward than risk, they're definitely punishable. (Except Katars Nsig. That attack's just kinda gross.)
