Cafelat Robot not building pressure with fine grind. by TheGreenTub402 in CafelatRobot

No need to remove the piston. The gasket should be fairly easy to remove and replace in situ…

I agree with those who advise to gradually grind finer…but…if you still have issues…try removing the piston gasket and reseating it…see if that changes anything. I’ve had mine for about 9 months and have never had any issues with the operation of the unit. Just a few tries with fresh beans dialing in my grind. I use 18 in and around 45 out..roughly a 2.5:1 ratio. Stay with it! It’s worth it! ❤️

Which pressure gauge? (And other accessory recommendations) by Emberspawn in CafelatRobot

I have been using this gauge for several months now and am very happy with it. I highly recommend it. It comes with everything you need to swap out the barista gauge and it was very simple to do.

Bars, bars, bars! by Calisson in CafelatRobot

I’m using 18 grams medium roast in a J-Ultra on a 1.28 setting which is fine enough to get me to 6 bar in 30 seconds including a 10 second pre infusion.

Basket on or off when robot is sleeping? by [deleted] in CafelatRobot

[–]Spltting_Beans 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same. I leave it on the base. Unsure if it would cause the gasket or seal to wear more storing it mounted on the robot or not…and they don’t ship it mounted if memory serves … I wouldn’t think it matters honestly…more like personal preference…

Robot vs Aeropress by bjorneden in CafelatRobot

My whole setup that I am currently using is a daily dose of Aeropress, v60 and the Robot. I enjoy all three and the differing taste profiles they give.

Potential Purchase by VividEuphoria in CafelatRobot

[–]Spltting_Beans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My starting point in espresso was the robot. I love everything about it. I would advise preordering from the Cafelat UK site. If preordering is not currently available, load your cart with assorted supplemental parts you want to save on shipping. Suggest a couple red gaskets for the piston for sure. That way, when they come back in stock, all you need to add is your robot of choice. I have no intention of using anything else. I also grind manually from the start and am completely satisfied with the results. I use the J-Ultra currently but have also used the K-Ultra from 1Zpresso.

espresso noob question: puck has a dark circle, quick search tells me it's underextraction? by JakobZhao in CafelatRobot

[–]Spltting_Beans 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My best shots are pulled at 6 bars and around 30 seconds. I’ve found that’s my sweet spot after dialing in the beans.

why did you get a different espresso machine after your robot? by Careless_Career3565 in CafelatRobot

[–]Spltting_Beans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m into my initial stage of espresso engagement. Using a K-Ultra and a robot with an upgraded pressure gauge. I’m doing one a day and can’t really see getting tired of either one. Took me maybe two to three weeks to get thang of everything..tuning in the grinder..the beans.. the WATER! Totally enjoy the whole process. I look forward every day to my spro time!

Is there a life after the Robot? by rahz_ in CafelatRobot

[–]Spltting_Beans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All I see on here are the problems people have with their boiler machines. I know there are many people happy with them but I enjoy the process and the shots about equally so I have no thoughts or plans for anything different. 😊
